MIKE MITCHELL
Normally, I would wake up to the sound of birds chirping and water falling from the fountain just outside the villa. It would be the most serene moment of my day. Imagine a wonderful morning with calmness radiating all over the place. Ah, just thinking about it sounded so wonderful.
After absorbing the positive vibes from nature, I would go and wake Zane up. Together, we would put a halt to the serenity and bombard the whole villa with our deafening uproar.
Chancer and Zion would wake up with massive headaches and would usually be extremely annoyed with us. Zane and I would make up for it by cooking burnt scrambled eggs for the both of them. They would thank us, but throw the poor eggs in the trash can. Their action would hurt our feelings but we would just shrug it off, knowing that they just couldn't take the pure awesomeness of our scrambled eggs.
This was our everyday routine even when we had lived in Australia. It probably wasn't the norm for other people, but it was normal for us. Chancer and Zane thought it was a ridiculous way to start each morning, but it was what we did.
I got used to that routine happening every morning so I was expecting that nothing would be different today. But I forgot one thing... Cielo was here.
Instead of the sounds of birds chirping and water falling from the fountain, I heard her earsplitting screams. Talk about serenity and calmness.
Groaning, I grabbed the pillow from underneath my head and placed it over my face, hoping it would somehow lessen my ability to hear, but sadly it did not do anything.
Lazily and reluctantly, I got out of bed and went to check out what the hell had happened.
I was now standing next to the door of Chancer's room, where I could clearly hear the commotion. Well, now that I thought of it, Cielo had been sleeping in his room from what I last remembered.
Wait... Don't tell me Chancer slept with her?! Oh shít! He should have just slept in the guest room or something!
I slowly opened the door and a lamp came flying towards me, catching me off guard. Good thing I was able to avoid it with my cat-like reflexes. Fúck that was close!
"Mike! Mike! Help me!" Cielo ran towards me and hugged me tightly, catching me off guard once again. Of course, her actions surprised me. It was not like she would have hugged me before.
"Fúck you, Mike! Get off her!" Shifting my attention from Cielo to Chancer, I saw his fists clenched and his face furious.
Quickly, I tried to untangle myself from Cielo but she wouldn't budge. Then I saw it. I saw a devil smirk plastered on her angelic face. Shit. I knew that smirk. I knew that damn smirk.
"Mike, did you not hear me? I said, fúckin' get off her," Chancer said calmly, but with an underlying tone of anger.
I panicked. Looks like I'll be getting some ass-whooping later. Damn it, Cielo, have some sympathy! I tried untangling Cielo's arms one more time, and breathed a sigh of relief as soon as I felt her let go. But that relief didn't last long because just a few seconds later, she jumped on me and wrapped her legs around my waist.
I cursed again, knowing she was doing it on purpose. She wanted to provoke Chancer and what was the best way to do that? By making him jealous, of course. But heck, why did I have to be involved in this?
Chancer was easily made jealous and was very possessive of everything he owned, especially Cielo. I knew Cielo was aware of his possessiveness and now she was using it to her advantage.
