CIELO MONTEZ
It had been a week and my assumption was proven correct. Half of the school was as good as new. We'd had a lot of fights about who would clean this and arrange that. But in the end, everything turned out fine.
The only thing left to do was to replace the grand piano in the music room. Mike had said that I'd have to deal with it last since it was the last thing that Chancer destroyed. Well, isn't that so reasonable. Note the sarcasm.
We were currently in an open field on campus. The sunlight felt very warm on our shoulders as it was three in the afternoon. The trees that surrounded the field were really helpful; they gave us the shade we needed. It was windy so we thought it'd be a good place to eat and take a break.
Looking at the green, grassy expanse of the wide field, I felt refreshed. Seeing the same exact faces every single day, especially Chancer's, bored me. Not that his face was hideous or something. It's just that he was suffocating me.
He was so clingy. Too clingy. Wherever I was, he was there too. Even in a cubicle of the women's restroom, nothing could stop him. It made me want to put a lock in the door in order to stop his advances. It was annoying. Really. I couldn't urinate properly, fearing that Chancer would just barge through the door any time. And if that happened, he would be seeing the precious pearl I hid under my yellow SpongeBob panties.
A sudden, irritating squeal caught my attention, making my eyes travel to the three people playing in the center of the field.
"Catch me if you can!" Bianca yelled at the Chinito and Mike as she ran, trying to not let either guy catch her.
I was irritated by what they were doing. What a flirt. Any way you looked at it, you could see it was not just a game they were playing. Bianca was screaming like she was chased by big, hot murderers. Mike and Chinito did have muscles but theirs weren't anywhere near humongous as those of bodybuilders. Their bodies were just buff enough to have girls drooling at their disposal.
"Why are they chasing her?" Zion asked. He was sitting beside me on the rag we had placed on the grass.
"She ate both of their sandwiches," I answered, nonchalantly.
"They're acting like bunch of wild dogs just for that reason?" Zion looked at me with disbelief. I nodded.
"Yeah, you know those three." I shook my head.
Almost all the fights that had happened over the past days were their fault. They acted like they want to strangle each other's necks. I also noticed how Chinito's personality was similar to Mike's— they were both crazy. He also had a good sense of humor. But the thing was, not with me around.
He was always cold when it came to me. He didn't really smile or laugh. I was starting to think he was holding a grudge against me regarding what happened back at the condo. But was that the only reason? Or maybe I'd done something wrong but I just didn't know it?
The secret glares he was giving me were making me feel uneasy. He often gazed at me like he was plotting my grand death march or something. So, what if I had done something wrong? Why couldn't he just talk to me about it directly? It wasn't that hard to do.
I should probably have a talk with him about it.
Zion's phone rang. He excused himself and walked a couple of feet away. I just shrugged.
"Cielo." A finger poked my cheek. I looked down at the head resting on my lap.
"What do you want?" I questioned, my tone annoyed.
