"Give me that!" I screeched as I jumped away from Bianca, frantically running to the other side of the room to get away from her.
"No!"
Infuriated, she groaned and stomped towards me, clearly out for blood. I pouted at her expression and stayed still. When she got close, she immediately snatched my phone and began furiously typing.
"Your convo is lit, but too bad, I'm gonna block him," she announced.
I moaned and headed to my bed, slumping facedown.
"Oh no, missy! Don't give me that attitude! You were basically having phone sex! What more if you're going to meet up with him?!"
Slightly lifting my head to look at Bianca, I threw her a smug grin. "That's the plan."
My reply had her disappointed. She sighed and went to sit on the floor just beside my bed. She crossed her arms over my comforter and placed her chin in her hands.
"You know, my phone has been ringing nonstop for days already. So far, Chancer has only been pestering me for updates about you. But it won't take long for him to get impatient. Sooner or later, he'll come see you for himself, and you won't be able to hide in your room anymore."
Bianca's words stung me as what had recently happened swirled in my head. I was aware of that already. Walking away from Chancer was not as simple as walking out of his room. Oh, how I wished it were that easy. If only that were our last encounter, and I no longer had to deal with the aftermath. But Chancer was stubborn. He would make sure that that wasn't our last talk. I could hide all I wanted, but I knew he always had to have the last word.
"We're done, Bianca. I no longer have any business with Chancer. I can sleep with as many guys as I want. You may be my best friend, but that doesn't give you the right to boss me around. Stop acting like my mother."
Bianca kept her face straight as she stared at me. "You and I both know that's not the case, Cielo. What's between you and Chancer isn't over yet. He has things to say to you, and you have to hear them before officially cutting him off. And no, I don't have the right to boss you around. But at the moment, you are acting foolish and stupid and hurt. You are being blindly controlled by your emotions and as your best friend, I have to be strong for the both of us. I have to be your voice of reason amidst all your crazy thoughts, so don't push me away, okay?" she softly said, flashing me a gentle smile.
My eyes started to brim with tears, but I stopped them. I had shed so many already.
"I'm sorry, Bianca. I wasn't thinking," I apologized, feeling guilty for what I had said.
She was the only one I had now. I'd be damned before I did anything to break us too.
She shook her head, caressing my hair with her hand. "It's fine. Just don't go texting other guys you met online and inviting them for some wet and wild activities," she quoted and I grinned.
"Yes, ma'am."
We fell into silence. But I knew that inside, we were having our own dilemmas. Bianca had a lot of things to say and she was just waiting for the right moment to speak.
"Chancer has a kid, huh?" she asked. I could only nod.
"Did he tell you that the kid is his?"
I turned my head to look at her. The deadpan expression on my face clearly told her that I didn't like where the conversation was heading.
