Luce picked Dean up for lunch and things were going great. They went to a dinner that was sort of far away, but it was fine because they talked the whole way there. Luce was a little more stand-off-ish than yesterday, but that could be for a lot of reasons. He started avoiding questions that were about him. Dean can't judge too hard, there's plenty of shit he wouldn't want to talk about in his life, but some of the questions were pretty basic. It was fine though. Some people just weren't.... into small talk like that.

They were seated in a booth at the dinner.

"The burgers here are the best," Luce said, "that's what I normally get."

"My man," Dean smiled, "that's my favorite thing to order."

They ordered and Dean got to talk about Sam. He wasn't exactly ashamed to be living with his brother. He loved it, he loved his brother. It just wasn't always the best thing to tell someone you might want to sleep with. Luce was cool with it. It finally got him talking about his personal life more. He talked about his many siblings. They never got along, he moved away from them as soon as he could.

There was a slight pause in the conversation as they both had their last bites.

"Hey, do you wanna come back to my place? It's close."

"Oh um," Dean paused. He couldn't say he's never hooked up on a first date, but he wasn't sure if that's what he wanted right now.

Luce's face scrunched up a little at Dean's hesitation, then broke out into a quick laugh, "Wait, no man, I'm sorry. I meant to get high."

"Oh," Dean blushed.

"Although," he said in a funny low voice, "not saying I'd be too opposed to what you were thinking."

"Ha, no it's cool man. I'm not sure about that yet, but uh, I'll definitely go rip a few with you."

Luce smiled, "great."

The drive back was a little awkward. Dean wasn't sure if it was his little slip-up or if he was imagining the tension altogether. It was a short drive, which really surprised Dean.

"If you live over here, what were you doing yesterday?" he asked as they walked from the car to the house.

"Meh, not quite sure. Didn't really have a purpose, kinda just took a drive. And also some jerks are starting to remember what I look like and that I ain't exactly smoking cigs."

"Hey brought us together didn't it."

Luce has a sideways smile on his face, "You sap, stop it."

Dean chuckles, "Alright, but I bet you'd say that if you were high."

"Pshhh, no way. I can handle my high. I'd never admit something like that."

"Hmm, we'll see," Dean put his hands up.

Luce faked a glare at Dean but then told him to wait in the living room while he got the stuff.

"Here you go, two fresh little j's," Luce held one out to Dean.

"Oh um, you already rolled them."

"Um yeah, why?"

"No nothing, thanks."

Idiot Dean you're supposed to watch. You need to know what's in there. Never just take what you're offered.

He was fine. He wasn't in Crowley's club doing anything to get anything. He was safe.

you're with a guy you've known less than 24 hours...

Dean leaned over to Luce's offered light and then took a big pull. He was fine. No need to be all paranoid and the weed would help with that.
