I walked to the landing of the first staircase and looked down at Damon. He didn't realize I was there. I just stared and watched as he looked around the house just like I did. First to the living room then to my patents den that I closed off. He began to open the door.
"Don't open that!" I said rudely.
He turned around quickly, with fangs bared and the veins around his eyes. He ran to the front door which was directly in front of the staircase. He saw me and became calm.
"You scared me!" He said as the veins around his eyes disappeared back into his skin.
"Sorry" I said monotoned. "How did you find me." I said as I started down the stairs.
"I don't know. You left and I had to clear my head, so I started walking. I went thorough the woods and I came across the road. I followed it and saw your car. I didn't realize where I was until I came in." He said not taking his eyes off of me. "Why are you here?" He asked rudely.
"We'll since we weren't talking I couldn't stay at your house. And I don't have any friends to stay with. So the only place left was...........here." I said defensively as I started my way down the stairs
He ignored my tone. "There are so many memories here. It's like everything is coming back." He said touching the banister." I remember having the best make-out cession of my life right there he said pointing to the couch.
I couldn't help but laugh.
"Yeah" I said remembering.
"So are we ok now?" I asked still confused at why he was here.
He looked at me as if he didn't realize we just had an epic fight a couple of hours ago.
"Yeah." He said nonchalant.
"Ok, didn't we just have a huge fight, or were you not there for that?" I asked. Then I guess it finally hit him at what I was talking about.
"Yes I was! And on my walk I came up with a solution." He said as he walked down to the back of the house.
"Ok......" I said following him and waiting for him to finish.
"So all I have to do is turn it off. Just like I did with my humanity, I will just forget about EVERYTHING. Up until now of course. So everything bad will be gone." He said cooly.
I rose my eyebrows at him. "Your just going to forget everything. Everything about us."
"Yeah so all the bad stuff. The lies, the break ups, all will be gone." He said walking into the kitchen and looking in the fridge.
"What about the good stuff?" I asked "Our whole relationship was not all bad." I said defensively.
"Well I guess those will be gone too." He said closing the fridge disappointed that there was nothing in there, but an open box of baking soda.
"That's not ok with me! I'd rather you remember all the awful stuff then to forget all the wonderful stuff!" I said
"Like what?" He asked looking at me.
I walked around the island and got very close to him.
"Out first date, our first kiss. The time we road motorcycles through red rock way over the speed limit. The time you beat a guys ass at a bar because he grabbed me." I said
He smirked as he recalled the memories.
I walked up to him and put my hand on his chest. I could feel his cold skin through his shirt and I could outline his six pack. It gave me chills as I outlined his body. He could tell too because he got closer to me and put his hands on my waist.
"The first time we had sex...." I said looking into his eyes. He looked empty as he looked down at me. Like the memory was to much for him. But he pushed through it and leaned in to me. Our lips were so close. I quickly pulled away and walked back around the island.
"And you want to forget it all." I said tauntingly.
"Ha ha your so clever." He said unimpressed. "Playing the mind game won't work. I invented that!" He said
"No you learned it from me." I said smirking. We both smiled.
"See! How are you going to forget all of this stuff! I said
"Well it's either that or I have to remember the fact that you not only had me but my brother." He said serious once more.
"Yeah, that's exactly what you do." I said serious as well.
"But that's the point Sam I don't want to remember it." He said
"Damon you have to! We all just can't run away from our past. I know I can't! What makes you an exception."
"I know I messed up and now I'm dealing with the consequences. I had both brothers, but it wasn't as if I had you two at the same time, like Katherine. It was at different times with different circumstances. But I understand why you're upset, and this is my consequence." I said
Damon once again had that empty expression. I knew it to be his I don't know what to do face. And I didn't know what to do either.
"But Sam you don't get it!" He said stepping up to the island and putting his hands on the counter, parallel to me. "Have you ever loved someone so much and then found out that you were second choice. You don't know what it is like to have to share everything with a sibling. And I don't want to share, I want you to mine and mine only! It makes me sick to think that my girlfriend was with my brother. I feel like you're the awesome toy, that I now have to share with my younger brother!" He said annoyed.
"What now I'm a toy?" I said kind of upset.
"No! It's just a metaphor. You're not getting the point!" He said getting frustrated and walking to the back sliding glass door. He opened it and stepped outside.
I immediately followed. As I did I realized how different the backyard is. It was once just land but not it had a patio and a large pool. To the right was a beautiful garden. There wasn't any gates since I owned a couple acres, so rabbits bounded across the yard. I looked over to find Damon standing by the pool, looking out into the forest.
I gently walked down the steps of the patio over to him.
I finally reached him.
Then I shoved him into the pool.
