Damon beat me down stairs and we stared at whom was at the front door. I was a step behind Damon and my body was turned to him. So I was slightly slanted. I had to take another glance to make sure I was seeing the right thing.
A chunky man was standing in the door way. I knew him from somewhere, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
Then it hit me. It's the guy from the grill! I thought I killed him. No I knew I killed him. I never make mistakes like this.
I tried to remember what happened that night. i went through the night in my head...Damon. I was to busy making sure that he didn't see me that I didn't even finish the job. Now Elena was paying the price.
"Remember me" he snarled. He was clutching Elena by the neck.
I wondered why she didn't just escape. She was a vampire after all. Then I noticed a stake in her spine, immobilizing her. The looked in her face just called for help.
I took a step forward.
"Don't move, or she'll die" he threatened.
"D-d-d-damon" Elena stuttered. Where was Stefan? I didn't have time to analyze that situation.
"Let her go" Damon commanded "Or you'll feel a nice stake in that cold hard chest of yours"
"She killed my brother, so it's my turn to kill something of hers!" The man yelled.
"Well you should feed more inconspicuously!" I yelled back. The word I used confused him for a moment. But he soon shook it off.
"Well how is this for inconspicuous." He took Elena and ran out the door. I was close behind. I gained on him easily.
"I grabbed his jacket and pulled him back. He lost his grip on Elena and she flew forward.
He hit the ground but bounced back up. He was crouched and he hissed at me.
"Did you just hiss at me?" I shouted rather loudly. "Your definitely dying this time."
He ran clumsily at me. It was easy to find weak spots in his attack. He tried to plow into me, I spun out of the way.
Then he swung. I ducked.
"Bad idea" I warned.
He swung again, this time I caught his fist. He looked shocked and tried to pull away, but failed tragically.
"I warned you" I taunted. Then I started to squeeze his fist in mine. I could feel every bone him his hand. In seconds his hand was mush.
He looked at it sadly, then refocused on me. But he was to late. I grabbed a branch from the next door neighbors tree and drove it through his heart.
He coughed and wheezed for air. Soon his eye rolled into the back of his head.
He was dead.
I turned around to see Elena sitting on the ground, Damon crouched beside her. He slowly took the stake from her back.
"What was that!" She asked
"Are you okay?" I asked
"Yes" she answered.
"Come on in and we will explain" Damon reassured her
