I'm starting to forget. Forget she's next to me, forget her name, forget she exists. I've never told her this because I don't want to admit it even though I know she wouldn't be mad. She would probably help me, talk me through it, and do that therapist thing she does. But I know it'll hurt her too, I know that if I tell her I'll find her crying in the pantry. I love her with all my heart, but I'm scared I'll forget that too.

"Y/N," I hear Natasha's voice coming from the hallway.

fuck, she's back

She is the first thing I want to see when I wake up but it's so hard keeping things from her, it gets harder the longer I do it. Every time I see her I'm reminded of what's happening and it breaks my heart into a million pieces.

"Hello, my superhero gf" I smile, giving her a kiss.

"Work was so boring, Tony really had to go on about team morale for nearly 2 hours and then talk about food, like really? We barely got any proper work done,"

"That's what happens when I'm not there," I joke

"That's because you are recovering," she says, tapping lightly at my head.

Oh? did I forget to mention that I basically got my head split from an Uru blade? And If not for my trusty internal helmet that Nat bullied Bruce into installing I probably would be a pile of ashes at the bottom of the sea. Yea well that's probably why I'm forgetting things but I don't want to tell Nat because I told her that I'm completely fine and there is nothing to worry about. I don't want to see her broken down crying in my hospital room again.

Nat decided it to order pizza because she didn't want to cook and she didn't want me to either. She also insisted on watching a crime documentary because she's insane like that. I lean on her and huddle up under the blanket.

I jerk up, staring at the strange redhead I was lying on a second ago.

"Who tf are you? Get out of my house before I call my superhero gf" I scream
