Carlos x Reader
[Chapter #9]

FINALLY, it was going to be the last day of your chores. You felt so bubbly, you could finally get away from that jerk of a person Carlos. But, there was something that ached you thinking about finally leaving Carlos. Could it be?

- -Carlos' pov- -

I couldn't stand getting up today. Something was just bothering me.. 'God, just get up already' I thought. But I just couldn't. Instead, I just continuously looked up at the ceiling, rubbing my tired eyes.

Something about today just made me so upset. But, why?

As I went on trying to solve that thought, I was interrupted by Mirabel. "Carlos get up. Don't forget that you still have chores today." She yelled from outside the room.

I slowly got up from the bed and got ready for the day. While that thought continued on my head.

- -Y/n's pov- -

I waited inside la Casa Madrigal for Carlos. 'He's taking longer than usual.' I thought, sitting down on a chair nearby.

Most of the Madrigals were already here, except Carlos. "Hey." Maria said, sitting next to me. "Hi, Maria." I replied, a bit surprised to see her here. I honestly had forgotten about her after awhile of not seeing her around.

"Luisa told me to help set up the kitchen. You wanna come and help?" She asked. I sighed. I looked at the entrance of Casita once more to see if Carlos was here: He wasn't. "Sure." I said. "Alright then, great. Follow me!" Maria stood up and took my hand, leading me to the kitchen.

She gave me a box full of utensils, "You can put all of those inside that cabinet nearby." She requested. I clutched the heavy box, making sure I wouldn't make it fall.

As I was walking to the cabinet nearby, I got a small glimpse of Carlos entering Casita. I turned my eyes away and decided to talk to him after putting the utensils back.

"Boo." Someone whisper-shouted next to my ear. I jumped because of the sudden noise. Slowly losing my clutch on the box. "Y/n!" Maria shouted once she heard the cluttering of the utensils.

My reaction time was slow, making the box drop. Almost drop. Luckily, someone caught it in time.

I looked up to see Carlos holding the box. My eyes widened, 'Wasn't he just at the entrance a second ago!?' I reflected.

"Oi, what did you think you were doing?" I said grabbing back the utensil filled box. "Scaring you, obviously. God, you should have seen your face!" He said, a grin forming his mouth.

My brows furrowed, "Whatever." I replied, walking to the cabinet again. "Awh, no need to be so mad." He said, following my way to the cabinet.

"You almost made me drop the box, Carlos. Who knows what could happen if the utensils broke." I said, my angry temper slowly melting away.

'God, why did I even miss this guy? I completely forgot what a pain in the ass he is.' I thought, sighing.

I placed the box on the kitchen island, opening it and displaying the utensils inside the cabinet. "Carlos?" I said, getting his attention. "Mind helping me?" I asked him.
