Following Ayaka's footsteps up the passageway that led to the Grand Narukami Shrine, you vividly remembered the very first time you asked your question to Yae Miko.

A few weeks after your first trip to the shrine together, you had asked Ayaka to bring you once more to the divine location, as your newfound plan occupied far too many of your thoughts, leading you to a certain question.
It's not that you had desperately needed an answer to it, but as curiosity began to weave through your senses, you figured it would be better for the sake of your own sanity to get it off of your chest, before you started to get irritated by the tight grip it held on the corner of your brain it had occupied.
Once you finally reached the Sacred Sakura, contemplating if bringing your question up was even a good idea to begin with, Yae had glanced at you with furrowed eyebrows the mere moment she laid eyes upon you.
"You seem troubled, child. Whatever is the matter?"
Startled, you parted your lips to speak, the words resisting the opportunity to come out in anything louder than a whisper.
"I... have a question?"
You loathed how unsure you sounded.
"Oh, you really are lucky I have excellent hearing." the Guuji replied with an amused hum. "What's your question then, hm?"
As you tried your best to settle the nerves that threatened to keep your question entrapped within the safety of your thoughts, you took a deep breath.
Anything for a silly ambition, huh?
"Will I ever meet my best friend's brother? Throughout the months I've known Ayaka, he's never once introduced himself."
The kitsune had let out a chuckle at your question for reasons you weren't sure of, though Yae knew all too well the reason behind her own action. "Oh, child, that answer is really only for me to know and for you to ever find out."
"Is... is that it? No specifics?" you questioned, unsure of her simple response.
"Hah, were you truly hoping for more?" Yae tilted her head, unable to wipe the grin that perched itself upon her lips. "Why, don't you know that the longer the delay, the better the blessing?"

Out of nowhere, you let out a quiet sigh at the infuriating memory.
It had been months since you were first told that by Yae, and the more times you had heard it, the more grating it had become.
Of course, you had figured that Ayaka's brother was to be extremely busy, as after all, he was the Yashiro Commissioner, yet how was he so busy to the point of never being able to at the very least check in on the safe haven he assisted with in the shadows?
Still, never once did you fault him over his lack of presence, as you believed him to be a very kindhearted, non-insufferable individual—what else were you to believe, when he so kindly funded your stay at the Teahouse upon Ayaka's request without fuss, as mentioned by her?—much unlike the exasperatingly vague kitsune you were about to converse with.
