In the middle of the magnificently decorated village of Ritou, you stood completely frozen next to the stranger you accidentally bumped into. Even though you had never once met this man ever before in your life, you already had a dreadful suspicion about who he was. To make matters much worse, as your brain oh-so-kindly reminded you of the few times before that Ayaka had described the person you had in mind, you knew that it was almost nonsensical to argue over the possibility of it being true.

Ayaka had mentioned him having light blue hair, which was the same color of hair that was currently delicately framing the stranger's face, and previously brought up a small mole located directly under the corner of his lips, which, much to your dismay, was also a feature you noticed on the man in front of you.

And as your curious eyes wandered to the glistening gold encasement of the stranger's Hydro vision as it sparkled under the rays of the sun, dangling off of a rope that hung from his hip, you dryly swallowed the lump of anxiety that had formed in your throat and finally came to terms with the horrors of your reality.

You had finally met Kamisato Ayato.

Because your brain was completely frazzled over finally encountering the man you were dreading to meet, you were too dazed to realize that he started to speak, and after he had seemingly asked a question, finished off by a tilt of his head, you finally came back to your senses.

Your sudden shame refused to allow you to even make direct eye contact with the man. "I'm sorry, I spaced out... can you please repeat that, sir?"

As he shook his head at your response, with an unreadable smile playing upon his lips, you were already dreadful of the possibility that you already offended him.

You weren't the greatest at making first impressions, but to have already upset a figure with so much influence and power in your community within a few moments of meeting them? You figured you'd be considered blessed if he didn't arrange it so that Ayaka never saw you again.

"Ayaka mentioned earlier this morning that you'd accompany her here, so I figured I'd take some time out of my schedule to introduce myself."

You were completely taken aback by his calm and collected tone, and you forced yourself to remain steady under his surprisingly soft gaze. "Ah, what an... honor?"

The man chuckled at your reaction and continued with his introduction. "I'm the head of the Kamisato Clan and the Yashiro Commission, Kamisato Ayato... though, I'm sure you of all people would know that already, hm?"

At this point, all you could really do without making yourself look like a complete fool was nod your head.

"Of course... I'm-"

"Ah, there really is no need for a formal introduction, Y/N. It's already a pleasure to have made your acquaintance." Ayato quickly interrupted, and, with a pause, smiled fondly. "Ayaka has already told me numerous things about you."

"And Ayaka has mentioned... close to absolutely nothing about you." you quietly admitted.

Aside from brief mentions of his appearance sprinkled here and there, alongside the fact that Ayato never took breaks, much to Ayaka's chagrin, she never mentioned much else about her brother, leaving his personality a complete mystery. You could only hope that fate would be kind enough to reassure you through your initial interaction, giving you the peace of mind of knowing that your best friend's brother wasn't a jerk.

Ayato's eyes had widened at your admission. "Oh? So, did my sister fail to tell you that I was one of the overseers of this grand festival?"

Now it was your turn for your expression to be washed over with surprise. First, Ayaka had failed to mention that Yae played a heavy hand in organizing the Irodori Festival earlier, and now she had once again kept you in the dark, whether by mistake or not, about the fact that her own brother would be at the festival, planning it out alongside Yae?
