Let Me Explain...Again

I looked back to looking at the lookout and ignored the fact that Chris was there.

"I know you don't want to talk to me..." Chris started off saying.

"I don't even want to see you so please leave." I said and he groaned and sat on the other side of Dodger using him as a barrier and buffer.

"Elise please let me explain..." Chris said and I groaned.

"Let you explain why you were with her again. Not even out in public...at your house! The house you have me at to be with you. You make out with her on the couch like we do?" I asked and Chris groaned.

"It wasn't like that at all Elise." Chris said and I just shook my head.

"Listen, you may be the kind of guy who wants more than one girlfriend at a time and it doesn't mean shit to you but I don't want that life. I want to settle down eventually." I said.

"I'm a one-woman guy." Chris said and then I looked back at him.

"And the lying? That constant for you? You told me you were with the guys today. If it hadn't been for Carly calling you I wouldn't have known." I said and Chris groaned.

"Carly called you?" Chris asked.

"No! I was standing there with her when she called you. I was at the park, she saw me and was confused because you told them you were hanging out with me all day. You just can't keep lies straight can you?" I asked.

"Listen I didn't tell you Jenny was coming over because I didn't want this with you. I didn't tell my family because I didn't want them to tell you." Chris said and I huffed a laugh.

"Not helping your case at all Chris." I said.

"Okay listen Jenny was over but it wasn't just her. Megan was there as was Jenny's person. We were going over the gifted premiere schedule and press tour schedule. After everything though I suggested I don't do press with Jenny. I don't want that out there, I will be doing all the press either alone or with Mckenna Grace, the kid from the movie." Chris said and I gave small head nod.

"Right...sure..." I said and groaned.

"Please believe me Elise. I know I fucked up and I promise not to lie again. I don't know why I thought I could get it past you. I just want you and only you in my life." Chris said and I sighed and turned my head to look back at him.

"I may be stupid and I may be giving in too soon but this is the last time Chris, I cant do this anymore. You lie one more time, I'm done, I walk." I said and Chris nodded and leaned over Dodger who had laid down and Chris kissed my cheek.

"I promise I wont use that last chance, this is what I want." Chris said and I nodded. I went back to looking at the view.

"I never knew about this place." Chris spoke up.

"It's my calming safe place. My thinking spot." I said and Chris sighed.

"What are you thinking about right now?" Chris asked.

"What Disney movie I should torture my boyfriend with tonight." I said and Chris laughed and I smiled at him. Chris stood up and then stood in front of me extending his hands to help me up. I took his hand, he helped me stand and pulled me into a hug and I just rested my cheek on his chest as he held me.

"I love you Elise." Chris said and I looked up at him.

"What? Really?" I asked and he nodded.

'To be honest I fell in love with you when I saw how much you cared and loved all of the dogs at the shelter, especially Dodger and I knew you were a kind heart person. Then I got to know you and I think that night we got home to my house on our way home I knew it was true. I love you Elise Byers." Chris said and I smiled up at him.

"I love you Christopher Evans." I said and he chuckled.

"Christopher?" He asked and I nodded.

"Yep, I think I should start calling you Christopher to keep you in line." I said and he groaned.

"No need. I know what I have to lose if I step out of line and I refuse to lose you." Chris said and I smiled as he leaned down and passionately kissed me.

"Can we head back now and get to watching that Disney movie?" Chris asked and I laughed as we grabbed leashes and headed back up the trail. Chris grabbed my hand with his free hand and I thought of something.

"Who told you where to find me?" I asked and Chris sighed.

"Grandpa." Chris said and I nodded.

"Well that had to be a fun conversation..." I trailed off with a smile.

"I mean they went pretty easy on me seeing how upset I was." Chris said.

"They love you. I think they would take your side over me." I said and Chris shook his head.

"Nope you are still their princess." Chris said and I smiled.

"Good." I said and he smiled. Once we reached the cars Chris followed me to my house to drop my car off and get my overnight bag. Once my grandparents were set I left with Chris and Boots for his house.
