-Kenji's POV-
I was so stressed as I tried to tame Liona's wild hair with her brush and almost giving up. But I finally managed to tame her white-golden hair. My little lioness had hair like her father's nearly completely untamable and with the triplet's first day of school, I was anxious. Looking through the triplet's room my heart squeezed painfully as it reminded me my babies were growing up. Liona and Lumi's bunk bed in one corner and Keegan's go-cart bed in the other. Splashes of colour clashed in the room from dark cabinets to brightly coloured toys and the like. Keegan would have his own room soon but they had told me they wanted to stay together as long as possible. Spiros and I had discussed it and we decided to give them another three years in this room and move Keegan out when they turned eight.
"Daddy, daddy, It's my turn" Lumi exclaimed excitedly dancing on the balls of her feet as her cool blue eyes looked into mine with excitement.
"Yes sweetie, it is. Sorry, daddy was just lost in thought at how big you've all gotten" I chuffed my tiger peering through my eyes as her tigress meowed in response to my nervousness.
"I want braids" Lumi responded enthusiastically as she and Liona switched places on their vanity so Lumi could watch me do her hair.
"Of course sweetie, Liona why don't you go see Keegan and Papa and I bet Remi and Pheonix are with them" I grinned at my daughter who's hair rested in pigtails.
Lionas eyes sparked with mischief as her lioness made a sound of excitement low in her throat.
"Okay daddy, don't be long, you and Lumi don't want to miss breakfast" Liona giggled pigtails bouncing as her vivid clear grey eyes laughed along with her giggles.
Then she was gone bouncing out the door happily slightly more confident than her sister. They were total opposites and where Lumi was nervous, Liona had seemed to be excited more than I though possible for someone going to school.
"Daddy, Hair" Lumi protested gently her eyes catching mine in the mirror with a pout on her face.
"Of course baby" I agreed softly.
Running my fingers through her hair I marveled at the beauty of her white-blond hair that was mixed with various black streaks giving her hair the appearance of a tigers pelt. It was so much like my own now that it had regrown and rested on my hips when it was down. Quickly I got out an knots and then tied two braids behind her head and let her choose a head band. She chose a pale blue that was adorable on her.
"Don't you just look so cute, Lumi" I hummed as I admired my handy work and then placed a kiss on her head as I'd done with her sister.
Lumi just grinned at me the toothy smile of a five year old before hoping out of the chair and pulling me out the room. I let her drag me chuckling under my breath as my tiger chuffed amused. My heart skipped several beats as we entered the kitchen and I took a few moments to look at my family.
There was the cheetah twins we had adopted years prior and they had come along nicely. They were fourteen now their next birthday a few weeks away. Remi looked so much like her mother with her soft brunette hair and hazel eyes. Both cheetahs were slim in a runners build all concealed muscle and it made them stand out in a family of shifters who had mostly white hair. Pheonix was still slightly shorter than his sister and his brown hair was dark blond at the ends. Caramel eyes focused on whatever homework phoenix was doing.
My attention then turned to Liona and Keegan as Lumi joined them at the table and started chanting that they wanted food. Clanging their knives and forks on the table. Keegan was smaller than his sisters for now and they babied him sometimes. Keegans eyes rose and met mine as I stood in the door way. I was always reminded of the ocean whenever he looked at me. Keegan's hair was the same silver-grey as Spiros' and the sides of his head carried several small touches of black. The little Liger smiled at me and I was once again reminded of how lucky I was.
