Chapter 12

-Spiros' POV-

The triplets ran straight into the garden where Gina was waiting on her trampoline. She even had a jungle gym. I smiled as they ran before turning my attention to Charlie and Melody. Charlie had his arms wrapped around his wife as she held their young son. Reece was babbling at them in the way babies do. Clearing my throat I offered an apologetic grin as they looked away from Reece to acknowledge me. 

"White Mane" Melody greeted, the leopards eyes teasing. 

I was stuck with that Nickname forever now and now our pride was named after it. 

"Spiros' dude so happy you and the little ones could stop by" Charlie stated, kissing his wife on the forehead before he released her. 

"Me too, I just hope Kenji and the twins have a successful hunt" I agreed, hissing as I was bumped into by two small cubs. 

Looking down at my legs I laughed as I found Gina and Lumi in their animal forms and wrestling with each other. Picking them both up I steered them back in the direction of the play structures. Chuckling as Keegan and Liona joined in the play fighting I turned back to Charlie.

"So Spiros I heard you're gonna be the Mayors new lap dog, congrats on the promotion" Charlie praises while walking up to me and slapping me on the back. 

"I hope you won't be too lonely without me now Charlie" I teased, elbowing him in the side. 

"Lonely, naw, I'll be the bosses right hand" Charlie replied, kicking my knees out from under me causing me to fall. 

I huffed as I dragged him down with me and tried to pin him. We ended up playfighting when the same way the cubs were playing. I laughed as we rolled around grass, only to laugh harder as we got dog piled by four cubs. I growled at Liona as her claws nicked my arm. 

"Watch the claws little ones" I warned before I sat up watching them fall from my chest onto my lap. 

"And teeth" Charlie groaned as he gingerly pulled his fingers out of Gina's mouth. 

"Cubs eh" I chuckled as I continued to play with the little ones. 

"I'm so jealous of all of you and your healing abilities" Charlie hissed, his finger oozing blood from where Gina's teeth had managed to catch him. 

Melody was standing behind us before I could even process she had moved. Her low growl startled me as she scolded her daughter for biting her father. 

"Gina you know biting is bad and look at this daddy is bleeding" Melody stated holding up Charlies hand for Gina to see. 

"Sorry daddy" Gina cried into the mind link her tongue darting out to sooth the wound she had made. 

"It's alright baby just try not to do it again" Charlie soothed, scratching his daughters head fuzz with his non injured hand. 

"That's better, now let daddy get up so I can get him a bandage" Melody stated before she easily lifted Charlie to his feet and the walked into their home leaving me to watch the cubs. Smiling down at them I laugh as they finally get bored of playing with me and run back to Gina's toys. I frowned as Liona tripped over her paws and she let out a small growl. It sounded ferocious for her small body. I moved forward to try and comfort my daughter.

-Liona's POV-

My lioness growled in my mind as I tripped over my paws again. I huffed as Lumi and Gina ran past me with Keegan trailing behind them. My tail flicking against the floor in irritation. Frustration bloomed in my chest and I snarled at the floor. I felt fingers stroking my neck as Papa tried to clam me down. Struggling out of his grip I hissed at him and ran to a corner in the garden. Papa meant well but I was too upset to have him calm me down. 

Curling into myself my mind went back to what was happening at school. There was a boy at school that kept pulling my hair and taking the toys I was playing with. Huffing my lion growled again. I was so mad at him but daddy and papa said I wasn't ever allowed to attack anyone at school. But I wish I could, I wanted to erase his gloating laughter from my mind and his stupid smirk. 

Snarling again I clawed at the ground in front of me. Emotions were hard. A rustled to the left of me had my lioness perking up and before I had even knew what happened. There was a plump rat between my jaws. My whiskers twitched as it struggled and I bit down harder. Trotting out of my corner I made my way back to papa. 

"What do you got there my little lion" Papa called as he tried to reach for my prize. 

Jerking back I growled at him. 

"It's mine Papa, I caught it" I exclaimed happily. 

Crushing its small body further I imagined what it would be like to break something of Parkers. 

"Easy Liona" Papa warned whiskers sprouting on his face. 

"But" I tried, but reason wasn't entering my mind right now. 

"How about a trade, give me the rat and you can have this piece of chocolate cake" Papa said as Auntie Melody and Uncle Charlie came out with a tray of cake. 

My jaws immediately dropped the rat as my human brain forced me to shift so I could enjoy my cake. Papa took the rat away quickly as Auntie melody pulled my dress down over my head. I got my cake not soon after. I happily ate my chocolate cake grinning in triumph as Keegan, Lumi and Gina got their cake after me. Always made me feel good when I was the first to get something. It didn't happen often. I made a mess as I stuffed cake into my face and forgot about Parker and his stupid face.
