-Spiros' POV-

I was so tired, after I had killed those wolves and returned home, Kenji and I kept ourselves busy. I smirked as I watched Kenji limp around the kitchen in shorts and a loose fitting top. We'd gone for hours before the time had caught up to us. The cubs would be home soon and so we had to prepare their meal. I had offered to do it all myself but Kenji had insisted. Stubborn cat that he was.

"I can feel your thoughts from here" Kenji laughed, fixing me with a glare.

I hummed in response but smiled anyway. After the way I felt this morning, I was truly grateful that I had chosen him as my mate. My lion roared its agreement in my head as I got the garlic bread out of the oven and placed it on the table with the lasagne.

"One of my favourites today kitten" I asked softly from across the kitchen.

Kenji was gathering plates. He smiled at me from across the room and my heart did a small flip. I loved that man with all of my heart.

"You deserve it" was Kenji's response and I was left staring dumbfounded.

He truly was too good for me.

"Oh I hear the bus, go greet the kids, while I set the last bit of the meal up" Kenji spoke as he walked over to the table to set up everyone's place.

"As you command Kitten" I chuckled.

Walking out of the kitchen I felt lighter than air and when I opened the door just as the door pulled up I felt even lighter. The triplets poured out first. Lumi, Liona and Keegan. They ran to me, little hands clinging to my trousers as they each tried to get my attention. Next came the more reserved twins Remi and Phoenix, the cheetah's waved at their friends before grinning at me too. When the bus pulled away I lead all five of them into our home. The smell of a fresh meal heavy in the air. The triplets dropped their bags and raced to the kitchen. I laughed softly as I picked up their bags and hung them up. Remi and Phoenix were just as quick in their actions but they made sure to put their bags and coats on the coat hooks I had installed.

When I finished picking up the triplets bags and gathering their lunch boxes I walked back into the kitchen. Kenji was listening intently as Keegan told him all about what he and his friends did at school. Phoenix and Remi were listening just as intently to Liona and Lumi. The noise washed over me like warmth on a summers day. Putting their lunch boxes on the side I smiled as I went to sit on the table.

"Shall we eat before it gets cold" I questioned, clearing my throat softly.

Six heads snapped to me and nodded vigorously. I served everyone lasagne, garlic bread and some salad, appropriate portions for appropriate ages of course.  The meal was delicious as I tucked in. I kept silent as I listened to the cubs talk about their days at school. Remi and Phoenix had a track meet coming up soon so would be late in from school for the next to weeks for more practice. Lumi and Liona talked about a mean boy in their class who made fun of them for their hair. I had to hold in a snarl as my lion grumbled. I wanted to protect my daughters from anything bothering them.

"Remember girls, you can defend yourselves but you're stronger than this boy, and above all do not bite him or shift. And make sure you don't strike first if it comes to that" Kenji offered, the advice much nicer than what I would have told them.

I agreed with him and gave a nod of encouragement to my girls. If the teachers didn't sort this out I'd be having words.

"What about you Keegan" I asked, seeing the little liger practically on the edge of his seat, mid bite of food.

"I got the star of the week today, my teacher said I was a very helpful good boy" Keegan boasts, puffing his chest out and practically preening as his liger growled happily. The sound escaping his lips surprising Keegan as he jumped.

"It sounds like you've all had a long day, after dinner and homework you can all play and do what you want within reason, and be good for daddy if I get called out, okay" I smiled.

"Thank you Papa" The triplets said in unison.

Remi and Phoenix nodded in acknowledgement. I wasn't worried about them doing homework they'd been okay on making sure it was done.

"Oh and before I forget, Phoenix, Remi I'll be taking you on your first hunt this weekend, we've just added a large area of grassland to our territory, perfect hunting grounds for cheetah" Kenji Remembered, his voice light and cheerful.

The phone ringing pulled me away from the table before I could hear their answers. I cursed softly under my breath before answering the phone. In the short conversation it seems I was being put on a year loan to be the mayors temporary body guard. They must be suspecting foul play if they are asking for me for the last year of this term. I was to greet the mayor at nine in the morning sharp. I was grateful that they hadn't just called me away in the middle of eating again.

Walking back to the dinner table I grinned as my family recognised I was gonna be home tonight. It warmed my heart and I got back to my meal. It was peaceful and I enjoyed anytime I got to spend with my family.

Static in my mind pulled me away from the conversation as I listened.

"Spiros we need to talk to the wolf pack that have just settled on my side of the territory" It was Melody, the leopardess.

She had told me of the pack a week ago when they first arrived. I had given them time to send an envoy or a letter of introduction now that we were neighbours but it seems as if they were waiting for us to move.

"Very well, send a letter, use the seal we had made for the pride" I replied to her.

Every group of shifters, herds, prides or packs needed a seal to identify them. It was something my father had taught me before he had kicked me from my pride.

"How long should I give them to respond" Melody questioned, her voice sounding hesitant in the mind link.

"Give them two weeks" I respond, immediately.

I have to get settled in my new position, and I want to be present for Remi and Phoenix's track meet.

"Got it, have a good evening Spiros" Melody replied quickly and just like that the mind link dropped.

"It seems we have a busy couple of weeks" I stated at Kenji's questioning gaze.
