                        ~Gwen's POV
“You like him, don't you?” Blythe asked.

“Of course not”I couldn't even lie.

“You do!" She said her eyes growing wide.

I could only smile. Even Blythe had noticed this.

“No..no..no” she began saying

“What?”

“You can't like Jacob.”

“Why?”

“Because he's not good for you. I love you Gwen and I'm simply saying as your friend not to let your heart out for him.”

“And why isn't he good for me? Is it cos of his girlfriend?"

“Not at all. It's..”

She looked around.

“He's like the biggest player in this school.. and you just can't handle the heat.”

“I never said I was gonna date him"

“Well, thinking of him would make you fall harder, and believe me, Jacob isn't worth it. I'm not even sure Penny knows he's banged half of the girls in the locker room.”

“Can we not talk about this anymore” I said as I stood up heading for class.

“See, you're already pissed.”

“No. I'm not. I just don't feel like talking about him again”

The day went by without any contact or interaction with Jacob. The last time I had a conversation with him, I choked on my salad, and ever since, I avoided him like plague. Good thing he doesn't always come to class.

It was off time, and I was standing beside my locker taking the books I wanted. I collected them and created a huge stack on my left arm. I was about to shut it when a finger tapped my shoulder.

I shut my locker door anyways thinking it was just Blythe, then I turned around and to my dismay found Jacob standing behind me. I was both shocked and scared.

“Hey!” he said.

This caused my books to slip out of my hands onto the floor and a shiver ran up to the hair on my neck. I gaped and tried to push him away but he didn't budge. I was torn between picking up my books and running away like a lunatic.

I settled for backing into the locker. But he came closer anyways. Slowly putting both hands on each side of my head, he caged me, leaving no opportunity of making my escape.

Breathing heavily, I kept my eyes low to avoid looking into his. Right now, I didn't care if people were watching. It was me against Jacob and I couldn't let him win.

I'm not even sure Penny knows
he's kissed half of the girls in
        the locker room.

Those words rang in my heart like a devoted prayer. My anxiety was taking a toll on me and I knew I couldn't escape this.

“I'm over here” he growled lowly and that was enough to focus my attention on him.

“Meet me at the general locker room after school” he whispered.

I cleared my throat and he quickly backed off. Though he was still standing beside me, I bent down and picked all my books and hastily shoved them in my backpack. I walked out and didn't look back once, even though I could still feel him and others watching me.

There was no way this wouldn't get to Penny.

After class, I got out after having small talk with Blythe and the gang. I was trying my best to avoid eye contact with anyone else.

I reached my locker and kept some books back, locked it, and got out of the school building. I had to before Jacob could find me. As I passed the parking lot, I was in shock standing few meters away was Jacob and a girl who wasn't Penny. That made me want to believe what Blythe said.

Out if all the places, he had to be here, just perfect. I said to myself. No one was out here to save me or stand up for me. I was about to make my exit when I heard my name.

It was him. I didn't know he knew my name. I walked back towards them and first met the eyes of the girl. She looked like she would murder me. Then I turned my eyes to Jacob who was looking at me intently. His eyes were hard and I felt a trail of shivers run down my spine just by his stare

Stuffing his hands into his jeans, he fished out a cigarette in his right hand and lightning it up began to smoke. I was disgusted. My dad was an avid smoker, so I was quite familiar with the brutal smell.

“Did he really call me to watch him puff in the air?” I asked myself.

He signalled the girl to excuse us but I didn't think she fancied it cos she stood there looking at me with scorn.
He cleared his throat deeply before she got the message and took a stroll.

Now it was just me and him left.
