Jacob's POV

It was Gwen and her friend Blythe. Never would I have guessed that she knew this Cafe. Of course it was in the neighborhood, but still.

She had her hair up in a ponytail, putting on a blue tracksuit. She looked so pretty. She hadn't noticed me yet.

“What're you staring at?” Kent asked. He followed my eyes and it landed on her.
“What could she be doing here?” he asks as I shrug.
“What are your plans for her?” he continues. That question threw me off balance.
“What do you mean?”
“Like plans. We're graduating in like a month or so... So I was wondering what's gonna happen between you two after all this”

I sighed. I hadn't really thought about that. What I and Gwen's future held.
“You guys aren't dating, not even talking as it stands, and somehow you can't seem to keep your pants to yourself”

How dare he make so much sense! But the truth kinda hurt.
You see, I wasn't like Kent. I wasn't patient or coolheaded like he was. Despite us being douchebags (or so we were called) in school, deep down, Kent was loyal, caring and loving. Infact, all the things I wasn't.

He had a girlfriend of five years, like since he was thirteen and now eighteen and they're stronger than ever. He met her at boot camp, and what gets me worked up is the fact that they attend separate schools and still make it work while I can't even make whatever I have with Gwen to.

“I have a plan Kent. I know I do. I'm just Still trying to figure it out.”
“Do you like her?” he voices. Knife dug in his stake.
“Yes”
“It doesn't seem like you do Jay. Sometimes you might act like it, and then other times.. well”

“Well. What would you have me do? She won't even talk to me”
“Youre supposed to try to fix it. If you liked her, you'd do that. Cause she really likes you” I rubbed my head for sometime.

“Fine. I'll make this right” I said standing. With that I walked over to their table. She had an expressionless look on her face, Blythe couldn't speak.
“Hi” I turned to Blythe trying to be friendly. To make it work. But she wasn't having any of it. I turned back to Gwen.
“Please can I talk to you outside?”
““And why would she do that?” Blythe charged.
“Please. It'll only take a minute” I continued. Some customers had their eyes on us by now.

She stood up.
“Only a minute” I couldn't tell if she was talking to me or assuring Blythe.
“What?” she began once we weren't in the cafe anymore.
I looked at her and sighed.
“Look. I know you've heard this countless times before, but I'm sorry. It's all I can say” she looked unmoved
“I wouldn't even wish to take back what I said but I didn't intend to make you angry” she was confused. The apology was fucked.

“Yes. Because I meant what I said about you being a virgin, but in a good way. All the girls I've been with were all sluts one way or the other, but you.. you were the only one who stood out. I couldn't contain my disbelief, that's why” I said with all truth and innocence.

“You mean it?” she asked. She's almost smiling.
“Yes. With all of my heart. You just misread me”
“Then why didn't you explain to me. I was so dumb” I saw her face flustered with embarrassment.
“Its cool. It's all in the past now... All the while, Kent's words rang in my ear

Plan! Plans! Plans!

I held her hand. “I want to make this right Gwen. Cause I really like you”
“What're you saying?” she asks

“Will you be my girlfriend?”

Minutes later, I enter into the Cafe, Gwen follows behind me and before we sit, we exchange glances.
“So how did it go?” Kent asks
“Looks like were dating now?”
“What?”
