Episode 8: Never turn back

Featured Cryptid: Tatzelwurm

Our episode opens up with a cloaked dagger along with the International Black Dot members in the swiss alps looking down on the mountains below, Dagger turning to face El Toro, Mayu, Ivan, and Adewale declaring that today Animal X will pay. After that, we cut back to Animal X HQ where we see Tony visiting the incarcerated Raptor saying "hey sister". Raptor tells Tony "I told you kid, I'm not your sister! Nina died a long time ago, I go by Raptor now". Tony tells her "I get that now, you're a clone and my real sister's never coming back. but you can be my new sister, if you choose to be" followed by Tony placing an Animal X uniform in front of Raptor telling her "this is for you if you decide to join us" all the while Helena tries to call Daniel. we then cut to the X-copter landing in the swiss alps where we see Daniel, Robert, Marcus, Anton, Delgado, Tanya, Mindy, Jack, and Kira exiting the X-copter with Daniel commenting how cold it is up in the mountains saying that they probably shoulda packed some winter clothes. Robert then gets a holographic message from Helena who informs our heroes that Natalie managed to apprehend the pack, with Daniel saying "That's great! tell Natalie I said hi and that I miss her!" followed by Robert asking Helena why she called. Helena informs him that Black Dot activity has been detected in their location, and that they're after a cryptid native to the region called the Tatzelwurm. Daniel raises an eyebrow, comically exclaiming "a pretzel-worm?" followed by Helena correcting Daniel saying "It's called a Tatzelwurm" before explaining to our heroes that the Tatzelwurm is a large Amphisbaenid or worm-lizard (hence the serpentine body and two front legs) that preys on large mammals such as mountain goats by constricting them like a snake. the creature has become a pest to farmers due to it attacking livestock, leading to many Tatzelwurms getting killed. and with the Black Dot on the loose, the Tatzelwurm population could dwindle faster than it already has. Robert understands the urgency of the situation and hangs up. Anton then tosses each of our heroes winter gear, telling them that he found these in the trunk of the X-copter, with Marcus saying "thanks Anton, you're a life-saver" all the while Daniel turns his head to see a Tatzelwurm slithering between the rocks. we then cut to the Tatzelwurm slithering into a cave where we see El Toro grabbing the bipedal serpent putting it in a chokehold, Cloaked Dagger telling El Toro saying "good, we have our bait" followed by Ivan, Adewale, and Mayu returning with each carrying a caged Tatzelwurm, with Adewale saying "oh, we have more where that came from". after that, we cut back to our heroes trekking through the swiss alps with Marcus asking Daniel if he's sure if he saw a Tatzelwurm. Daniel tells Marcus he's sure he saw one, sure he may not have his ESPer powers anymore but he knows a two-legged lizard when he sees one and he saw it slither towards that cave over there. our heroes then enter the cave only for them to find a bunch of caged Tatzelwurms. Mindy begins to feel sorry for the poor creatures, followed by Jack telling his sister that this must be the Black Dot's doing. followed by a voice saying "Indeed we are" followed by the other members of the wildlife warriors getting jumped by Ivan, Adewale, El Toro, and Mayu stepping out of the shadows. Robert Searle asks what the meaning of this is, followed by the female voice from before saying "It's all about revenge" followed by the wildlife warriors readying their weapons only for a bunch of daggers to be shot out of the darkness pinning Anton, Delgado, Tanya, Kira, Jack, and Mindy to the cave wall and out of the shadows steps none other than Cloaked Dagger. Marcus readies his katana and tanto blade, saying "Dagger! I should have known you were behind this!" followed by Dagger telling the other four Black Dot International leaders "you four, stand back. these three are mine". Kira tells Marcus to get out of there, however Marcus tells Kira that this is his fight alone. she and him are family, after all. Cloaked Dagger aims her cybernetic arm at Marcus, telling Marcus "don't call us that after you sent my sister to her death!" followed by Dagger firing blades from her cybernetic arm at Marcus who deflects them with his katana and tanto blade, Marcus telling her "I didn't take your sister away from you, Cloak sacrificed herself for the greater good!" Daniel then fires his grappling hook at Cloaked Dagger tying her up in his cable, Daniel telling her "Marcus is telling the truth! Revenge isn't the answer, Dagger!" all the while Robert frees the Tatzelwurms from their cages causing the serpentine lizards to wrap around and attack the Black Dot international members. Cloaked Dagger then sheds a tear, telling Marcus and Daniel "You're lying, it was you who gave Cloak the idea to use her ESPer powers at the expense of her own life. her death was all your fault!" before using her blades to cut herself out of Daniel's grappling hook cable. Marcus then tosses his tanto blade to Daniel followed by the two double-teaming against Dagger, however Dagger manages to block both their blades. Marcus then asks Dagger "Come to your senses, Dagger. is this really what Cloak would have wanted?" Dagger then turns to her head to see the Black Dot International leaders lying on the ground being constricted by Tatzelwurms, followed by Cloak saying "Enough!" before whipping out her daggers scaring the Tatzelwurms away as they slither out of the cave. Dagger then calls her blades back to her freeing the other Wildlife Warriors, Dagger telling them "all of you, leave! now!" both our heroes and villains exit the cave, Dagger closing her eyes as she points her Cybernetic arm at the ceiling of the cave, saying "see you on the other side, sister" as she fires her daggers at the cave ceiling causing the cave to collapse on top of her killing herself in the process. Daniel, Natalie, the wildlife warriors, and the Black Dot international watch as the dust clears, followed by Ivan telling our heroes "we will finish this later" followed by the four boarding a jet with the Black Dot logo on it and escaping. Marcus looks at what's left of the blocked-off entrance, saying that he felt sorry for her. it's too bad he couldn't save her, she was his half-sister after all. Kira then comforts Marcus, telling him "at least you still have us" referring to the wildlife warriors of course followed by Kira and Marcus sharing a kiss. Daniel then sees a Tatzelwurm slither up to him and flick its tongue, followed by Daniel petting the creature's scaly body telling the others that he's just glad the Tatzelwurms are okay. Daniel then contacts Helena that the Tatzelwurms are safe. Helena is grateful to hear this, telling Daniel and the Wildlife Warriors good job. we then cut to Tony entering Helena's lab to tell his mother to come see this. Helena then enters the lab to see that ALL the members of the pack have escaped, including Raptor who left the Animal X uniform he gave her behind meaning she's still sided with the pack ending our episode on a cliffhanger.
