Episode 7: A salty situation

Featured Cryptid: Lake Van monster

We open up a shot of Lave Van, Turkey where we see the Pack on a boat where we get to see Agent N (now called Raptor) wearing her new red uniform with a dinosaur footprint on the front in place of where the black dot insignia used to be. Raptor deploys her underwater drones that dive to the bottom of the saltwater lake, Dingo asks her what she's doing and Raptor tells Dingo that the new underwater spy drones she invented will help them find the Lake Van monster faster, all the while the drones spot a mysterious mosasaur-like shape swimming in the dark water. After that, we cut to the Cryptozoology museum where Natalie who is giving guests a tour of the museum ends up bumping into a man her age with long, black hair and a white streak going through it. Natalie asks him "Who are you? Never seen you here before" while the mystery man shakes hands with her, saying "Name's Dominic, I'm new in town". Bill then shows up, telling Natalie "It seems you've finally met Dominic, he's our new intern. Dominic this is Natalie, she's like a daugher to me". Natalie reluctantly shakes hands with Dominic, all the while both Tony and Cindy watch from behind a trash can, Tony saying "I don't like that guy, he reminds me too much of Domino" with Cindy saying "If he turns out to be yet another clone, I'm gonna lose it". Natalie catches the two snooping around and asks them what they think they're doing, followed by the two panicking and saying "Nothing, Ms. Natalie". Natalie raises an eyebrow, saying "sure..." followed by Natalie taking them down the elevator down to Animal X HQ where the two are greeted by Helena who informs the two that Bill has a mission for them: The Pack have been spotted at Van Lake, Turkey and are after the Van Lake Monster, Helena showing the trio a hologram of the creature explaining that the Van Lake Monster is a descendant of the Mosasaur family endemic to the alkaline lake feeding on the lake's only fish species known as the Pearl Mullet, the "Monster" is a shy creature usually avoiding contact with humanity but won't hesitate to attack ships if provoked. she then informs the three that Agent N is now with the pack according to reports from Marcus and the wildlife warriors. Tony begins to feel conflicted about the thought of being forced to fight his own sister, however Cindy tries to comfort Tony telling him it's going to be okay. upon boarding the X-Van Natalie, Tony, and Cindy pack their scuba gear with James asking "so are you three going snorkeling today?" followed by Cindy saying "We're gonna be diving after a lake monster before the pack can get their hands on it". James then says "well that sounds... dangerous" followed by Sharon telling Natalie to make sure the kids are safe for her. the X-Van then flies off before arriving in Lake Van, Turkey where the X-Van transforms into a boat mode upon landing in the lake. Natalie, Tony, and Cindy hop out of the X-van and into the lake below where they find some ancient ruins of a sunken castle at the bottom of the lake, Tony looking closer at these ruins to find runes carved into the bricks of the sunken castle accompanied by a picture of monkey-people bowing down to a mosasaur-like creature, Tony telling Natalie to check these out. Natalie recognizes the sunken castle runes as the same language seen in the sunken ruins of Atlantis, saying that this is the language of the Firstborn. both Tony and Cindy's Atlantean crystals start lighting up upon holding them close to the ruins, the two looking at each other before we cut back to the X-Van where Sharon sees a mosasaur-like shape below the water's surface, telling James that we've got company. James radios Natalie and the kids to inform them that the lake monster has been spotted in their area and to stay safe, all the while our heroes are being watched by the Pack in their boat, Raptor informing Dingo and Gator that they've got company. the three then move out of the way as the Lake Van Monster dives down to take a rest in the sunken ruins, Natalie noticing the picture on the ruins and realizing that this castle was built by the Firstborn as a shrine to the beast. however our heroes are suddenly attacked by underwater drones which electrocute Tony and Cindy knocking them out cold. Natalie then whips out her electric batons and smashes the drones one by one to protect the kids however she turns her head to see more drones electrocuting the Lake Van Monster knocking the beast out cold. the drones deploy cables to grab onto the monster to carry it to the surface followed by two more drones grabbing the unconscious Tony and Cindy and carrying them to the surface, Natalie shouting "NO!" followed by Natalie radioing James and Sharon to inform them that Agent N's drones captured the monster, and they got the kids too. Sharon tells Natalie to rescue them as soon as possible, and Natalie says she will. We then cut to the drones levitating out of the water and placing the Lake Van Monster on the deck of the pack's boat along with Tony and Cindy, Dingo telling Gator and Raptor that they got themselves a bonus catch. Tony and Cindy both wake up, Cindy recognizing Gator as the guy from Skunk Ape park while Tony turns his head to raptor saying "Nina?" Raptor grabs Tony by the head and tells him "Don't call me that, that's not my name!" Tony tells her "Yes it is! you're Nina my sister, I saw you on the other side of the time portal in the Congo!" Cindy tells Tony "Tony stop that's not your sister!" only for Gator to hold one of his knives up to Cindy's neck telling her to watch her mouth. Tony then tells Raptor "Maybe the cave-in made you lose your memory, but you got to remember! remember the honey island project, remember mom!" causing Raptor to have flashbacks to her interrogation by Doctor Helena, telling Tony "You're Helena's kid aren't you? sorry to break it to you kid, but your little lady friend's right. I'm not your sister, I'm a clone made by Doctor Uno" Tony's heart sinks, realizing that his sister really is gone forever. Dingo shouts "ENOUGH!" before holding his spear up to the Lake Van Monster's neck, saying "This beast's head will be mine!" only for Natalie to show up and hop onto the boat, telling the pack to let both the monster AND the children go. the pack whip out their weapons and surround Natalie, Dingo telling Natalie that they won't let go without a fight. Natalie whips out her electric batons and combines them to form an electric bo-staff to fight off the three members of the pack all at once, however she is greatly outnumbered and they manage to overpower her, however help is on the way when the X-Van in boat mode rams the pack's vessel upturning the boat sending the pack falling into the lake and the lake monster back into its natural habitat with Cindy grabbing onto the monster's back. Cindy's eyes glow icy blue along with her Atlantean crystal, all the while Natalie and Tony hop in the X-Van. Sharon asks them where Cindy is, and Natalie says "oh no" as she turns around to see the pack desperately try to swim toward the upturned boat. however the Lake Van monster surfaces with Cindy surfing on the monster's back, the mosasaur-like beast opening its toothy jaws causing the three to scramble to the boat. the monster then turns around much to their confusion followed by the Lake Van Monster swimming toward the X-Van allowing Cindy to hop in, Cindy petting the creature's nose thanking it for saving her followed by James and Sharon hugging Cindy, James crying happy tears to see that his little girl's okay. Natalie is impressed how she managed to master her ESPer powers like that, and Cindy looks at her Atlantean crystal and tells Natalie that her crystal must have helped amplify her ESPer powers. Tony is intrigued by this while looking at his own crystal, saying that these crystals clearly have mystical properties of some kind. after that, we cut back to the X-Copter hovering over the upturned boat forcing the Pack to surrender and our episode ends with the three being arrested and thrown in a prison cell in Animal X HQ where Tony pays visit to the incarcerated Raptor, saying "hey sister".
