Featured Cryptid: Amarok
Our episode opens up with the X-Copter in the snowy Alaska wilderness, Daniel, Robert, Marcus, Kira, and little Rodney wearing their winter gear exiting the vehicle onto the snow below, Rodney shaking the little skyfish not used to the frigid weather. Robert asks his son why he suggested they visit here, and Daniel explains to his dad that they're here to visit an old friend and in steps Sophie Wolfman and Professor Remy Chastelle, Sophie hugging Daniel happy to see him again. Daniel introduces Sophie to his father Robert Searle along with Remy Chastelle. Daniel explains to his father that Sophie's a werewolf, Robert saying "I see". Marcus and Kira shake hands with Sophie and Professor Chastelle, the two wildlife warriors introducing themselves saying that they used to work for the bad guys but they're good now. Sophie explains that she and Chastelle were here in Alaska on a diplomatic mission to make peace with the Amarok, a tribe of Inuit werewolves from Alaska who are very hostile and don't trust foreigners. we then see a bunch of werewolves with white fur covered in Inuit markings bear their teeth and claws at our heroes, Sophie transforming into her werewolf form telling them to back off, saying that these humans mean no harm. the Amarok chief tells Sophie that humans are forbidden from setting foot on their tribal lands, as humans and lycans have been sworn enemies for centuries. Sophie tries to reason with the Amarok saying that times have changed and that humans and lycans can live in peace, Marcus and Kira holding their swords at the ready all the while Robert Searle tries to reach for his syringe after noticing fur grow on his arm underneath his sleeve only for an Amarok to sniff Robert and grab him by the arm causing him to drop his syringe, the Amarok telling the chief that he smells the scent of the Wendigo on this one. Daniel's father's eyes glow red as his hands become hairy and clawed like in the episode "guardian of the caverns" slashing at the Amarok tribesman the chief exclaiming "those filthy humans have brought the Wendigo to our land! this is an act of betrayal!" the Amarok then attack Marcus and Kira fighting off the werewolves with their swords while Daniel asks his father what they're talking about, Robert telling Daniel that he'll explain later. Daniel then picks up the syringe and injects his father from behind turning his arms back to normal while Sophie protects Daniel and Robert growling at the Amarok, the Amarok chief telling Sophie "not only do you choose to side with these humans, but also the Wendigo. you are a disgrace to your own kind, which is why your fates are sealed, all of you!" the Amarok capturing Robert, Daniel, Marcus, Kira, Sophie, and Remy Chastelle taking them away while little Rodney watches before turning his little head to see a bunch of Black Dot grunts on snowmobiles in the distance. the Amarok bring our captive heroes to their ice cave lair where the Amarok take away Marcus and Kira's swords, Marcus shouting "hey, hands of my weapons you furry freaks!" an Amarok tells him "sorry, but we don't want you to escape" our heroes are locked in cages made from bones that hang from the cave ceilings while the Inuit werewolves look up and growl at our heroes, the Amarok chief saying that they'll only have a day to think about what they've done before becoming sacrifices to the wolf god Amaguq, Sophie says "please don't do that, we did nothing wrong!" the Amarok chief then tells Sophie "Don't lie, you traitorous lycan. I can smell the scent of human blood on your hands, you've done more than wrong in your life" Daniel then asks "so what exactly is a Wendigo?" and Remy Chastelle explains to Daniel that the Wendigo is a beast that exists in many Native American mythologies, a human-turned-monster with cannibalistic tendencies, all the while Robert Searle looks at his hand with a guilty look having the same flashback scene from "lights of New Guinea" showing Daniel's mother running from a tall shadowy cryptid with antlers. Robert then tells his son "Daniel, there's something I should have told you a long time ago. the Wendigo... was the cryptid that took the life of your mother" which shocks Daniel. Rodney then suddenly zips into the Ice cave which catches the Amarok off-guard, Daniel asks Rodney what's up and the Amarok then smell more humans coming followed by a platoon of Black Dot grunts and silencers entering the Amarok cave led by Ivan and Agent N who's back with the Black Dot, the Amarok chief asking "friends of yours?" Kira says "hardly, those are the Black Dot our enemies. they senselessly kill innocent cryptids for profit, such as yourselves" the Amarok chief then shouts "Amarok, battle positions!" as the Amarok let out a loud howl before charging at the Black Dot cronies, Ivan attacking the werewolves with his hammer and sickle while Agent N attacks with her electro-whip, Agent N saying "man it's good to be back" as she puts the Amarok chief in a chokehold. Sophie shakes the rib-bars of her bone-cage and says "We can help you guys if you let us out, my friends have fought these guys before!" followed by Sophie transforming into her werewolf form her weight causing the cage to drop the ground and break setting her free, Sophie letting out a loud howl before scratching Agent N freeing the Amarok Chief who thanks Sophie for her assistance, saying that he was wrong. Sophie then leaps to the top of the cave and breaks the rest of our heroes free from their cages one by one allowing them to join the fight, Marcus and Kira grabbing their swords to slice their ways through silencers while Daniel ties up Black Dot grunts with his grappling hook. Ivan and Agent N realizing they've been beaten retreat while Rodney sticks his tongue out, the Amarok chief shakes hands with Sophie thanking our heroes for their assistance saying that maybe not all humans are bad after all. our heroes then board the X-copter and take off ending our episode on a good note.
