"Emmi, wait! Let momma help you." Adrian rushed over to her five year old holding a paper towel.
"I'm okay, momma." The little girl smiled.
"Yes but you're messy. And if mommy sees you're messy she's gonna tell mom and mom is gonna freak out."
The girls were now thirty years old. Been together for what feels like forever but in reality it's only been twelve years.
When they were twenty five the talk of them starting a family came up. Marriage wasn't a choice considering it's nearly impossible for three people to get married.
A few months later they found a doner and Lely volunteered to become pregnant. A few months after that their daughter Eliana-Michelle or Emmi was born.
Two years later they thought about another kid and this time Hades volunteered. She given birth to twin boys Ares and Adonis using the same doner.
And you would think it's confusing but I promise you it isn't. They taught- or tried to teach the kids that Adrian was momma, Hades is mommy, and Lely is mom.
They've done well with raising their kids. Even though they just started.
But anyways every year the whole family likes to come around and celebrate another together as a family. Trinity and Elodie being honorary members.
Trinity is still single but the others had came to the conclusion that Trinity simply wasn't ready for commitment so she just continued to do her thing.
Elodie started dating the girl she lost her "lesbian virginity" to. They found out her names Navi and Navi's a pretty cool person.
"Adrian! I'm sending the twins down so you can do their hair!" Hades called.
"Shit," Adrian cursed, "Emmi, ask mommy to help you."
"Okay," the five year old smiled at her momma and skipped up the stairs.
A few moments later the sound of giggling and little feet hitting the floor filled the house.
"Aye, Stop running in my house."
There stood Lely wearing an apron that said "kiss the chef". She had been preparing food all day for their little get together yet she wasn't tired.
But then again Lely is never tired. Ever. She's like a superhero. In her children's eyes she's the best superhero and she loved that.
"Sorry." Adonis pouted.
"Yeah." Ares agreed.
When the twins were born they were quite small. Adonis, who was baby A, weighed five pounds two ounces. Ares, Baby B was four pounds six ounces. They were small but the didn't have to go to the NICU which is a little surprising.
Emmi was super excited to meet her little brothers and was ready to help in anyway possible.
It was adorable.
After everyone was cleaned up and dressed they had the kids sit on the couch and watch a movie while they waited for everyone to arrive.
The first to arrive was Elodie and Navi. They walked in hand in hand with big smiles on their faces.
"What are you two hiding?"Lely asked, brows furrowed.
"Oh nothing." Navi smiled.
"Yeah okay."
The adults made small talk whilst the children sat waiting for Athena, Georgia, and Harold to get there so they could play with the others.
August, who was now twenty showed zero interest in what the younger kids talked about. He was an adult now so there was no need to stick and around and listen to the conversations a group of toddlers made.
However he was their entertainment during the family gatherings. Poor August. He just wanted to talk to his boyfriend but no; he got stuck being the babysitter.
Aurelius who was now twelve had no problem playing with the little ones. He and Eliana were the bestest of friends. Ares and Adonis just liked feeling included.
Athena arrived maybe twenty minutes later. Lots of traffic apparently.
"Athena, tell your sister we don't need anymore kids."
"What a conversation to walk into," Athena chuckled, "Hades, you don't need anymore."
"But Emmi wants a sister!" Hades defended.
"And people in hell want ice water." Lely deadpanned.
"If y'all don't love me anymore just say that."
"Get out my kitchen. Go do something that's safe 'cause this ain't it."

"We have an announcement." Elodie giggled as she stood up holding Navi's hand.
"I fucking knew it!" Lely cursed causing her to get a smack on her head from her dad.
"Language."
"My bad."
"What's you guy's' announcement?" Georgia asked, her attention fully on the couple.
"We're engaged!" The two women cheered.
"Holy shit congrats!" August smiled happily.
"Auggie." Harold scolded.
"Sorry."
"Congratulations loves." Natalie smiled softly.
The room was full of laughter and conversation. Most of it was talk of the wedding which was exciting considering no one had gotten married recently.
Other than that it was pretty boring but the family didn't seem to mind. Them being around each other was enough.

We don't choose who we fall in love with. We don't choose how many people we fall in love with it just happens.
Take Lely, Hades, and Adrian for example; all three of them didn't know they were gonna fall in love with each other let alone get married but here they are
And every love story doesn't get a happy ending. Everyone isn't lucky but they were. They didn't get their hearts broken they got hearts split in three and unlike Angelica Schuyler they were satisfied.
