It was almost midnight, and I decided to stroll to the kitchen to swipe some of the freshly baked cake for the next dinner. Gillian and I had shared a blunt of his famous special blend, which left me craving for sugar. I closed the dorm door as quietly as possible not to wake Gil, who snorted peacefully, wrapped around Ad, holding her like a stuffed animal close to him.

Ad was always the first to fall asleep, and seeing her sleep made Gil sleepy. He just had a weak spot for the weird girl when he had smoked. I made a few steps into the hall when I heard someone coming. I debated with myself to either hide or try to make it back to my room, but my thinking wasn't exactly the fastest right now. So while I was trying to conclude, the Vk's stumbled into me.

They stopped in their tracks, glaring at me like they had something as equally forbidden as me in mind.

"What are you doing here?" Mal and I asked simultaneously. She took a step forward, looking into my pupils, which happened to be as large as planets.

"He's high.", she concluded, sounding relieved.

"And your acting fishy.", I replied.

"What now?" I heard Carlos whisper in the background.

"What the fuck do I know?" Jay answered him, crossing his arms in front of his chest. With every moment, the situation became more suspicious. Until Mal did something the others didn't expect.

"Could you perhaps show us the best way out of the school to not get caught?" she asked. And another time, she left me puzzled.

"What?" I asked, looking at her than at Carlos, who flinched away under my gaze.

"I thought we could make a deal." "A deal?"

"Yeah, you know, a favor for a favor.", she smiled.

"What are you doing?" Evie whispered to her while smiling at me.

"Making an ally.", Mal whispered back through gritted teeth.

"What's your Plan?" I now wanted to know, tempted to say yes, just because I felt like it.

"We're going on a little midnight stroll.", Evie laughed, putting a hand on Mal's shoulder.

"Sure. You're going to steal something, aren't you?"

"Just because we are villain kids?" Mal crocked a brow, the others around her looking busted.

"No, because I was going to steal some cake.", I awkwardly admitted, scratching my neck.

"Oh.", Evie said, her lips forming a perfect o.

There were actually painted the prettiest pinkish-red color I've ever seen. Reminding me of sweet apples..and the apples reminded me of apple pie, and that reminded me that I was starving. I could feel my stomach ache for some pie. Or chocolate pie..perhaps both..

" So..you're going to help us or not?" Mal impatiently demanded my attention again. I blinked, coming back to reality again.

"Sure.", I said. "But we're taking the way through the kitchen. Now I'm hungry as fuck."

"Cool." Mal shrugged. "Lead the way."

And with that, we tiptoed through the dorms, which was as easy as usual. Hardly any student would ever break the holy rules of curfew. So the only one we had two fear was FGM herself, and I was pretty certain she would not show up.

Actually, I was certain nobody would have bothered the Vk's even if they didn't bring me along. Every way out of auradon prep was basically one to not get caught. So we wandered to the kitchen. I took a few slices of cake and pie with me, leading them right through the back door.

"So.." I asked, munching on cherry pie. "Where exactly do you want to go?"

"Educating ourselves at the museum?" Carlos half stated, half asked, his eyes wide in panic.

Jay poked him in the rips for that.I just stared at the smaller boy, noticing how the brown of his eyes glistened in the moonlight... and somehow, my brain connected the dots, not the shimmers in his eyes, but their plan.
"You're after the wand.", I concluded.

"I think now you have to put a spell on him.", Evie whispered to Mal, clearly audible.

Jay eyed me suspiciously. I just looked at each of them, my brain blank again as a white paper. Mal took a book out of her pocket and flipped its pages until she'd found what she was looking for. She muttered something under her breath while the others stared at me expectingly. Absolutely nothing happens.

"Maybe you should work on that.", Jay recommended to Mal, who daggers at him with her piercing green eyes.

"Just wait." Which again reminded me of apples. I liked apples more than I ever realized...

"Hey!" Mal called, and I snapped back again.

"What were we talking about?" she asked me.

"The wand.", I answered. "Or apples?"

"It didn't work.", Carlos now whispered to Mal. Much whispering tonight.

"I don't think it will work.", I added.

"Stealing the wand....security standards are pretty high... I think...or at least they were when I last visited.. pretty boring field trip, by the way. One out of 10 would not recommend it."I started rambling on.

"I think he's just too high.", Evie now said, squinting at me thoughtfully.

"We should take him with us, keep an eye on him..." She sounded concerned.

"We can't! "Mal responded. The whole situation started to bore me, so my mind wandered off again.

"I think we can leave him here until we're back.", Mal finally decided.
"He seems pretty occupied with the stars."

Stars? Oh, right. That's what they're called. I grinned, gripping another piece of pie from the Tupper can I brought. Stars were pretty, and cherries were delicious.
I had always liked sneaking out in the middle of the night, it was so calm and pretty without all the other students on campus. It almost made me like Auradon Prep. Almost.

Suddenly, someone grabbed my wrist and dragged me behind him, forcing me to run. It took me a second to realize it was Carlos, and we and the Vk's were running straight back t Auradon prep. Hilarious, right?

I almost tripped a few times but somehow returned to the dorms, where Carlos released my arm. We all stood there panting, trying to catch our breaths. Now my mind was much clearer again.

"It didn't work, right?" I asked after a few minutes. Mal squinted her eyes at me,

"You could have mentioned the force field." she huffed.

"Didn't know about that." I shrugged. "My last time at the museum was like.. five years ago."

She huffed again. Then she got dangerously close.

"You're not telling anyone about tonight. ", she demanded. "Why should I? Nothing happened." She nodded.

"Can we trust him?" Jay asked, still not liking how much I knew.

"I think we have to, or are your spells better than mine?" Mal snapped at him. Then she eyed me again.

"See ya tomorrow." And with that, she turned around, making her way to the girls' dorms with Evie hot on her heels, who just gave me one of her charming smiles as a goodbye.

"I keep an eye on you.", Jay said, bumping into me when he passed by. Then only Carlos was left, looking awkwardly anywhere but at me.

"You're going to keep an eye on me too?" I joked.

"Yeah..." he stumbled, flushing a light shade of pink.

"See you tomorrow," he then mumbled and followed after Jay. Weird guy, I thought. Then I decided it was time to return to my bed again.
