Weakness

Jake walks to the park in thought. He was thinking of what would happen to him...if he was going to get killed when he felt someone touch him. He turns around immediately.

Jacob: (sees the person) Red! You startled me!

Red: Please. You're just a coward.

Jacob: Ever so sweet with words I  see.

Red: (smiles) So tell me. What's up? Explain all of this.

Jacob: (sighs) I dunno if I should say...but I kinda trust you and your friends. Kinda.

Red: You gonna talk or not.

Jacob: Here it goes. (Points to a seat and they both sit down) My mom was chosen to bring a soul to celebrate a feast of vamps but she got married to him so her son... I was supposed to be used but she fled with us. The blood moon is five days away and the council sent those vamps here to get me to them. You know?...For the feast. (He rambles). So that's just the long story short.

Red: (stands up) What the heck, dude!!!

Jacob: What?!

Red: You're the reason Peter, Jason, Eddie and I are here.

Jacob: What in the world...are you talking about?

Red: When your mom fled, the vamps became even wilder. They didn't stop at killing other creatures but killing humans as well. We were sent here to keep watch over the humans and protect them.

Jacob: So...you gonna rat me out?

Red: Of course not. (Sits down) I'm not an animal like you guys.

Jacob: First of all...I'm not like them. I can proudly say that I haven't even tasted blood.

Red: Greeat! So you're a wimp too.

Jacob: No I'm not!!...well kinda but it's cool.

Red: No it's not cool! Now we have to protect you as well...and that girlfriend of yours.

Jacob: (confused) Girlfriend?

Red: Chloe. She's getting involved in this and...it's not safe for her.

Jacob: Ok ok, Chloe is not my girlfriend. And yeah I agree she's not supposed to be involved in this but how do I talk her out of it.

Red: (sighs) I'll do it.

Jacob: ...and she's going to listen to you why?

Red: Why not (she stands to leave)

Jacob: Don't make her mad.

Red: Yeah and...be careful.

Jacob: Um...how is your arm?

Red: It's ok now. (rolls her sleeve to reveal her scarless arm) We heal faster.

Jacob: Yeah. Thanks for saving me back then.

Red: Yeah. Someone has to protect you sorry ass. (Smiles at him) I'll leave now.

Jacob: Alright cool. (He gets up)

(It's evening and the Park's empty, she transforms and runs away. He watches her go and turns to leave but bumps into someone. He makes eye contact with the person and sees Ash.)

Ash: Hello Jake.

Jacob: Shit (turns to run but is blocked by Wren and Kyle.) What do you guys want from me?

Ash: From what o heard, I think you already know.

Jacob: (they grab hold of him) Let me go!!

Wren: Sure. Why not. (They release him)

Jacob: Why?

Ash: The council sent us to get you...but we haven't had a good meal in years. So Jacob, any recommendations?

Jacob: You want a...bribe?

Kyle: No. We wanna kill two birds with one stone.

Jacob: I don't under-

Wren: Your girlfriend, Red. She's a healthy and decent meal to-

Jacob: What are you talking about? Red's not my girlfriend.

Ash: (smiles) So it's Chloe then. Thanks for the info, Jake.

Jacob: What! No! Don't!

Wren: If you want to see her again, she'll be with the council. (They disappear)

Jacob: Shit!! I gotta call Red. Wait...I don't have her number. Urgh!!

(He runs to school in hopes to find the wolves. He bumps into Jason.)

Jason: Want another fight?

Jacob: Don't got time. Chloe and Red are in trouble.

Jason: What?!

Jacob: The vamps confronted me. They want to use Chloe to lure me to the council...and Red's with her.

Jason: So this is your fault, then?!

Jacob: Please, Jason!

Jason: (sighs) Fine. What do I do?

Jacob: Try to alert Red. She's with Chloe then we and the guys can meet there.

Jason: The heck are you mouthing about? There is no 'we' in this.

Jacob: Just call Red.

Jason: (brings out his phone and calls Red) Hello, Red? You there?...(looks at his phone) No signal.

Jacob: What do we do?

Jason: (looks around) It's getting dark. You know the way to Chloe's house?

Jacob: No

Jason: (sighs) So worthless. We'll follow Red's scent, then.

Jacob: And the others?

Jason: Don't worry. Climb on my back...and don't bite or you're dead.

Jacob: What d'you- (Jason turns into a huge black wolf and signals for Jacob to climb on which he does)

(He then speeds up to find and follow Red's scent)
