It's my first day working officially for my father's company, which is by law, it will be my company too, yet I will be reporting to Alexander freaking Hunt.

Once his name flashes in my mind, I feel the twist in the pit of my stomach, followed by the scene playing in my head. The hard fuck, the moaning, the exhibition, and the erupting orgasm. Shit. I still don't know what to do about it.

I'm reluctant to believe it was real. Even though a part of me still thinks it was, my conscious mind says otherwise because I can't find any possible reasons why Xander visited the club that night. Partying is not his jam for sure, and to confirm it, I couldn't find him anywhere on the dancing floor or in the VIP lounge afterward. Probably I was just imagining him, and it's not like I was sober. I chugged down a few cocktails and had a few shots with the girls before heading upstairs to see Roy.

So, yes. I must have imagined it. Xander was never there. He was just in my head because I was too excited about the revenge I was plotting for him earlier that night.

The ding sound from the elevator pulls me out of my bubble of thoughts. I glance at my reflection on the elevator mirror wall while waiting for the doors to slide open. A silk blouse with a few buttons open to reveal a part of my cleavage, a pencil brown skirt that is tight enough to show my buttocks curve, and a beige stiletto to show off my long legs. They are perfect to start my day as an intern. And as a boss teaser.

Margaret is already at her desk when I walk past Xander's office. She looks up at me when my high heels are clicking audibly against the floor, and then she smiles brightly, saying, "Good morning, Ms. Hayes. You look dazzling today." She stands up and gestures at my office door. "Your office is prepared as per your request. Let me know if you need anything else to be changed."

"Good morning, Margie. Thank you. And why do you keep addressing me with a miss?" I give her a disapproving look. Margie has been working for my dad's company for almost two decades; she used to be a secretary to the former COO before the man died from a heart attack. It just feels weird to hear her call me Miss Hayes instead of Parker because she's known me since I was just a kid.

"Old habit dies hard." She chuckles as she strides to my door and pushes it open. "I will let the tea lady know that you have arrived. And Mr. Hunt would like to see you once you settle in."

"He is here already?" I ask while following her into my office. A bright room with a light grey desk, an office chair, and a pair of filing cabinets sit exactly where they were when I checked this office room last week. I didn't ask them to change the layout or the furniture except for the blind.

"Yes. He often arrives at work earlier than most employees. He's been here since seven today."

"Seven in the morning, right?" I walk to my desk, putting down my bag next to the computer screen. "Just to make sure."

Margie laughs. "Yes, seven in the morning. Mr. Hunt hasn't spent the night at his office since last year. But he sometimes still stayed back until midnight and popped back in again at six in the next morning, especially when there were some issues to take care of."

"Such a dedication." I pull down the black shades until it reaches mid-point, just enough to give the room natural light yet it blocks the sun. The downside of having a window heading south east is the sun's low position during fall and winter. "That man doesn't sleep."

"That's probably true." Margie clasps her hands together. "Now. Welcome to the team, miss...I mean Parker. I'm happy to be your assistant during your training, and please, just ring me if you need anything."

I flop down on my chair and sigh. "Thank you, Margie. And I will."

"Alright. I will inform Mr. Hunt that you're here, and you will be ready to see him in" —she tilts her head, looking unsure— "thirty minutes?"
