Code Red.

His reply is like a hard slap on my hazy mind. For a moment, I freeze on my spot, trying to catch up with the frantic thoughts in my head. He did go to the freaking club. Was that real then? Which means I wasn't imagining it! It was him, who stood by the corridor, locking eyes with me while I came undone.

But...it can be just a coincidence, right? Maybe Code Red is the last club he visited the last but it doesn't have to be a week ago. Maybe he went there months ago or years ago or in another life. Maybe I'm overthinking it.

"Are you okay?" Xander's deep voice brings me back to the current moment.

"Oh, yeah." I quickly put my blazer on since I feel naked all of a sudden.

"Are you sure I don't need to drive you home?"

I slip my feet back into my stilettos. "No, thanks. My friend is picking me up."

"Friday night. I see," he replies as a smirk grows on the corner of his lips. "Go back to Code Red again tonight?"

My heart beats faster. His question sparks the dangerous excitement I've been ignoring in the past week; the same thrill as when I was being watched in Roy's office. "Maybe," I say. "You should check out the new face after the new owner bought it. I bet it's completely different from the last time you went there."

He taps his fingers on the steering wheel. "I doubt it. I was just there last Friday."

It's when a car horn screams behind us, making me jump from the piercing noise. The not-so-happy driver is squinting at me when I look back, as if she's about to shoot metal bullets with her eyes. Maybe she should just do it if it's what it takes to undo this weird topic. Grabbing my bag from Xander's car floor, I scamper out of the car, still not sure how to react to him.

"Thanks for the ride," I say before I close the door. At least, I don't forget my manner.

I gave Xander a hard time today. I tormented him by whining all the time as we walked from one storage building to another, or purposely climbing on a ladder with my butt sticking out to his nose, or leaning to him a bit too close so that he could peek at my cleavage. A cock-tease is my middle name, but doing this to him feels exciting and dangerous at the same time. I know he will be removed soon, but in the meantime, I can have a little fun with the poor man, can't I?

But the fun has now escalated into anticipation after learning the fact that Xander was in the same club as I was last Friday night. No doubt. What I saw was real. Why didn't he say something about it? What's his intention? Is he playing around with me? Fuck. I don't like this.

The sound of my phone chiming yanks me back to my office. Brit's name flashes on my phone screen, and I quickly slide the green bar.

"We'll be in front of your building in five minutes or so," she yells, a loud music blaring in the background.

"Okay. I'm heading there now," I reply and snatch my blazer from my seat headrest. "Pull over at the drop-off zone, yeah?" I kick my heels under the table and put on my flat shoes. The girls are planning to hit a different club but I'm not sure if I want to come along this time. As much as I appreciate a hard dick pounding my pussy for the weekend, I'm just not in the mood for flirting tonight.

Having a job sucks.

No. Having a job with Xander breathing down my neck sucks my life.

Brit's blue Camri comes into view a few seconds after I reach the agreed point. Grinning, I jog to her car and jump in. Unlike the noise through the phone speaker a few minutes ago, the radio is now set at a low volume. Sarah is also in the car, sitting behind Brit, who takes the passenger seat. Theo, Brit's cousin, drives us to the bar this time since Brit is still having a cold war with her brother because he's punched her ex-boyfriend in the face.
