The deafening silence
Pierces my ears
"What do you want"
You ask me through tears
I clench my jaw
Knowing our answers will never matchI was quiet but I was not blind
I saw what you never wanted me to see
I've tried so hard to be kind
But it is clear to me now
That you never wanted to be
With meBut instead with her
tenth grade perfection
Baggy ripped jeans and a cheeky smile
Led your heart in another direction
Away from me
And what we could ever be
