A Dark and Stormy Day

It was finally Fall in Japan. The leaves were losing color, the air was getting cooler, but above all, Halloween was soon approaching. In a world full of super heroes, this is a pretty exciting time for anybody wanting to dress up, especially those with a favorite hero in mind. The holiday was still a week or so away, but that did NOT keep anybody from being in the spooky spirit.

This particular day was a rather stormy one at U.A. Academy. Despite the harsh thunder and lightning violently shaking the building, class was still running as scheduled. "Aw man!" called Hagakure, "I HATE stormy days! Especially since it was so nice and sunny yesterday!" Asui gave her two cents, "Eh, I don't mind too much. Besides, I love the sound of rain hitting the roof, especially at night." While trying to talk over the adverse weather., Aizawa kept trying to teach the class as if it were any other ordinary day. Meanwhile, Jiro had a look of dread on her face, "What's the matter Jiro?" asked Ashido quietly. She looked in Ashido's direction and quickly recollected her thoughts, "Oh, it's just that the loud thunder is kinda aggravating me, that's all." Ashido remembered, Jiro's quirk increased her hearing, so right now, she was basically like a cat in a thunderstorm.

Just then, a harsh clap of thunder shook the room, followed by the whole room going black. Hagakure and Ashido screamed. "Calm down you idiots!" growled Bakugo, "It's just a power outage!" Aizawa cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. Once the students could hear a pin drop, he announced, "Looks like the building is experiencing a blackout, I will try to see if I can fix this, in the meantime, you kids stay put. Don't do anything stupid while I'm out, got it?" The students nodded, "Yes sir!" they all said in unison. Aizawa reached into a drawer in his desk and pulled something out, "This is an emergency flashlight we have for situations like this, keep it on you until I come back and give you the signal. I will see you soon." "Take care Mr. Aizawa!" called Midoriya as the ever exhausted teacher sighed on his way out, this was just gonna be another one of those days.

"Man, this sucks!" said Kaminari. Jiro noticed the irony, "Oh, so NOW you wanna learn stuff?" she asked mockingly. "No," he answered, "It's just that anything is better than being stuck in this almost pitch black room with nothing to do."

Ashido was holding the flashlight and had an idea! "Hey, anybody know any good ghost stories? This is the perfect time for something like that!" The whole room's mood lifted, "That sounds like a great idea!" called Yaoyorozu. She made everybody individual blankets to curl up under, like gathering around a campfire on a starry summer night. "Well, I'm getting no reception on my phone" responded Jiro, "Guess this would be a nice way to pass the time." as she gathered in a circle at the front of the room with everyone else.

Mineta was trying to get a seat by any girl, "Don't. Even. Think about it." responded Yaoyorozu, making sure he was not about to start a round of "Building Blackout Mystery Butt Slap" Shoji and Kaminari made sure Mineta was between them, just to keep tabs on him.

"Come on Kacchan!" called Midoriya, "Join us! It'll be fun!" Bakugo groaned as he got up, "Fine, just don't expect me to enjoy it Deku!" He sat down as far from the green haired hero as possible, just to remind him how much he did not wanna do this. And just like that, everybody was gathered around.

Editor's Note: Happy early Halloween everybody! Just yesterday while watching an episode of Community involving the main cast telling scary stories, I had the idea for Class 1A telling each other scary stories, kinda like the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror epsodes. One of my favorite types of episodes of any series is characters telling each other different stories, with each one tying into a character's personality or backstory. Each chapter will involve a character from MHA telling a story, with some characters portraying roles in these stories.  Some of them playing heroes, and others even being the villains of their own stories. I can't wait to get started and plan to churn out a lot of these throughout October, so be on the lookout for more scary stories on the horizon. Plus Ultra!
