The cool air breezed against my skin, the smell giving me nostalgia. Being apart of the royal family, my mother would frequently warn me about the outside. Our family was very important to the society, only reasoning the people who would do anything to take our place. My father, the king of the planet, maintained peace in the realm as the original founder of this planet. Our people have lived on this planet for decades now, my grandfather often told me stories about our ancestors but I was quite young so it's only a brief memory. But one story I do remember, he told me that there was life on other planets. Not just animals, people similar to us.
I walked a little further as I heard the sound of commotion and chatter. It wasn't irregular to hear this since our town had a large number of people but it seemed louder than usual. I shielded my eyes as a bright light casted upon me. As I opened them, readjusted myself my eyes widened as I saw the silhouette of a large ship of some sort. I froze in my stance before glancing around and seeing.. everyone walking towards it with all of their things. Others remained gathering their things in preparation to go somewhere.
Wait.. what is happening? Everyone is leaving..??
Confusion was drawn on my pastel blue face as I snapped out of my thoughts, sprinting to towards the nearest person in sight. I grabbed their shoulder, frantically asking why everyone was leaving. I mean.. this is all so sudden! We've lived here for years! "Pluto is no longer a planet." They simply said, before I could get another word out, quickly boarding the last leaving spacecraft. I stood there in shock for another moment before I noticed the spacecraft's large surface lifting to shut the door. Wait! They are leaving without me.
