After meeting new Pokemon in New Bark, Jessie, Ash, Misty, and Brock were now on the road to Violet City for Jessie and Ash to battle for their first Johto league badge," The Narrator said as the group of four was seen walking down a path."I'm sure I am glad we got to see a real-life Totodile," Ash said.
"Yeah, that Cyndaquil was one of the cutest Pokemon I have ever seen," Misty said.
"Yeah, it was quite the cutie," Jessie agreed, looking down at Shelly in her arms, who nodded in agreement.
"It too bad we didn't get to see a Chickorita," Brock commented.
"Your right. We didn't see one," Ash said.
Pikachu then noticed something as he let out a cry and pointed to something. Everyone else stopped looking at Pikachu in confusion.
"What the matter Pikachu?" Ash asked.
"Hey over there," Jessie said.
Everyone else looked forward to where Jessie was looking as they saw a girl with purple hair in two ponytails who was dressed like a baseball fan and had a Chikorita with her.
"We're going to train hard, hit hard, and knock everyone out of the box! We're in the big leagues, so we're playing hardball!" The Mysterious girl said, waving the strange object in her hand."What's that girl doing?" Misty asked.
"One! Two! Three strikes! They're out! The side is retired, and Chikorita wins the game.
Chikorita cried out happily, twirling the leaf on its head.

The four trainers then walked over to the girl with her Chickorita as she continued her rant about her starter winning some sort of baseball game in her own imagination; as her, Chikorita followed along with a determined look.
"Chikorita...The Pokemon champion pulls out another ninth-inning victory, and the fans are going wild!" The girl announced.
"Hey, a Chickorita," Misty said.
