You could feel yourself waking up again, the sound of the music upstairs probably woke you up.

You were sleeping on the floor tonight, it was your turn. You grunted a bit before turning on your side, pulling on the covers. You shut your eyes, but they didn't fall back asleep this time, no, instead they just stayed close until you opened them, sighing.

"Can't sleep?" You almost flinched when Bucky spoke in a low voice, he sounded unsure if you were awake or not.

"Ditto." You said in the same tone.

After a moment of silence (other than Bruno Mars playing upstairs) there was the sound of shuffling from Bucky. You lifted your head up over the mattress to see him on the other side.

"Come 'ere." He gestured for you to get on the mattress. You looked at it, debating for a moment if you should or shouldn't. It wasn't a small mattress, it was build for two people. Besides, you and Bucky weren't like that...you're just friends.

You climbed up, bring the covers with you, throwing them on Bucky. You touched his leg for a split second, feeling how cold it was. You were both facing each other, but didn't speak.

"Did you dream?" You ask, breaking the silence in the room.

"You and I both know we don't dream. Not anymore." He said, holding a sad smile.

"Just a question." You responded.

Silence overcame the two of you once again, and you closed your eyes, seeing if sleep wouldn't be a bitch to you.

"Daisy." Bucky's soft voice whispered to you. "What...do you remember from...them?"

Them...HYDRA. You know Bucky didn't mean any harm, but memories came back to you, slamming your face with no remorse. You opened your mouth to say something, but you didn't try to speak, you didn't know what to say.

"I'm -I'm sorry, ..I'll stop talking, I'm-"
"I remember Nathan."

His sweet face smiled in your mind. His dirty blond almost brown hair and baby brown eyes. His innocent little face. His funny eyebrows. You saw his little curls in his hair.

"I knew we weren't going to get out together. It had to be him or me and I'm never forgiving myself for being so stupid." You saw the blinking lights, the alarms. "I remember when I carried him out. My feet...they hurt so bad, my ankles were in chains. But I had him get him out."

Bucky stayed silent, watching you with calm eyes. You fiddled with your fingers lightly and ran a hand through your hair.

"I was stupid. I should have known or at least thought why no one was chasing us...At the end of the hall." You swallowed, feeling a stretchy lump in your throat. "There was a lot of them. They had guns, but they were all pointed at Nathan. When I tired to run back, they caught up and took me away from him."

You saw the HYDRA agents with their batons and tasers, hurting both you and Nathan. You remembered how pathetic you looked at you couldn't even reach out to Nathan to comfort him, how they dragged you away from him.

"They put me, in that chair." You said slowly, you could feel your voice break. You blinked, looking away from Bucky so he couldn't see you. "Once they had me under control, they didn't want to deal with distractions, so they-"

You voice broke, and you tried to calm your breathing, But the moment was replaying in your mind, as if it was tormenting you.
"They gave me a gun and-and...and I shot him."

The first tear escaped your eye and stain the sheet, you quickly wiped your cheek. You promised not to cry. Your chest was tight and you felt as if you couldn't breath, but you wouldn't allow yourself to cry.

"I killed him." You got your voice normal again, but you didn't dare to look him in the eye. "I murdered my own brother."

You didn't hear Bucky, and you thought he fell asleep. It wasn't until a moment later when arms slowly and unsurely wrapped around you, pulling you close.
"It's okay, Doll. It-..it's okay."

You froze, not expecting this at all. You reached one arm out, starting to hug Buck and you then engulfed him in a hug, closing the gap between the two of you.
It was stupid and cliché but you haven't felt this type of safeness and security in a long time. You liked this feeling. You liked how you found the person to make you feel safe enough again. And you were happy it was Bucky.
