Fifteen

l liked the ice cream cone in my hand, sitting on a bench as I watched the lake. The sun was setting, the water was illuminated by the sun and everything looked a little more beautiful.

The ice cream was finished in a flash.

I loved sunsets. You don't sit in front of a sunset and be like 'There should be a little yellow colour in the left', you just accept it as it is because it's beautiful, and it's nature.

People could never be accepted this way.

The ducks were floating around in the lake and I felt as if I just wanted to grasp the scan and keep it in my mind forever.

And even the orange and red sunset bought the thoughts of Ocean eyed Laurent. I found myself wanting him to be here, sharing this beautiful sunset with me.

I felt someone sit behind me. I looked at the left.

"Hello, Ophelia".

" Hello, Laurent".

We smiled and looked back at the sunset. He shifted closer to me. I shifted a little closer, too. Now our sides were pressing together.

"I have a confession to make", he said.

" Shoot, I happen to like your confessions".

He chuckled. "I was standing behind up for five minutes, wondering if I should disturb you".

" Your presence is a disturbance I don't think I'll ever mind".

He smiled at me, I rolled my eyes. "That was so cheesy, don't know why I said it".

"Nah, I was cute", he said, his eyes like a calm ocean.

" You think so?".

He hummed. "Probably the best thing anyone has ever said to me". He took our AirPods from the pocket of his jacket. He handed one to me. " Let's listen to some music".

Wordlessly, I put the AirPod in my right ear. He put it in his left and took out his phone. "Let's shuffle my playlist". He handed me his phone. " click Shuffle".

"Why me?".

" If you click it, I'm sure a great song will turn up".

I laughed lightly. "And I called myself cheesy". I clicked shuffle.

I recognised the song instantly. 'Fix you' by Coldplay.

Laurent stood up, extending his hand towards me. " May I have this dance, Miss Ainsworth. I'll make it worth your time".

I smiled kept my hands in his and let him pull me to my feet.

"Stuck in reverse", he whispered in my left ear as he wrapped his hands around my body. We were so close and I closed my eyes.

When the tears come streaming down your face

When you love someone but it goes to waste

"What could it be worse?", I whispered back.

"Lights will guide you home", he whispered, spilling me around and then leading me back to his chest.

"And ignite your bones", I sang, looking up at him.
