The next morning
{Selena's point of view}
I looked outside as the rain stopped. I went to the entrance of the cave as it was wet from the rain. I stepped inside and I could feel it was cold. My feet touched the muddy sand and I could the coldness of the soil under my feet. I started walking as I knew I had to go and stay somewhere. I continued to walk barefoot as I looked around at my surroundings as I went along the path. "I can't believe someone could of done that." I said to myself.
I came to a fork in the road. "Which one do I take?" One, was leading north from me. The second, was leading west and the three was leading east. I looked around and closed my eyes. I listened carefully to all three of the paths. I took the path where I heard a horse, East. I walked down the east path. I looked around at the green trees as the sun broke through their branches. I didn't know what the time was, but surely it was a few hours before noon.
I continued to walk down the path when I came across two roads that diverged in the forest. I knew I couldn't travel both paths. I looked down as far as I could, to where I bent in the undergrowth. I was confused on which of the two paths I should take. I looked down both but they went on for miles. I looked at both paths when I tried to sense which one had more life than the other but that technique was useless. I estimated and decided to go down the path towards my right, in case I felt a gut feeling that I should go down that path.

I have been walking for 3 - 4 hours now. I continue to walk down that same path that I took so long ago when it started raining. "Things cant get worse than this." As I started to run along the path when I came to a opening for the forest. The late afternoon sun shined through the trees and it stopped raining and I ran out from the forest. I was in front of a gate. I could see carriages coming in front somewhere and going through the gate when suddenly, one stopped by me. The guy that was controlling the horse looked at the condition I was in. "Are you okay?" He asked me as he got out. His raven black hair was dancing in the wind as I stood in front of him. He was wearing a white shirt and black pants. He didn't look that old nor that young. He looked like he was in his 20's or 30's. "Yes. I'm fine." I replied as I looked at my bare feet that has tramped many thorns on my way here and now has blood on it.
"You don't look okay.... What's your name?" He asked as I looked back at him. "S... Selena..." I said nervously as I didn't know what was happening to me. "Nice to meet you. Why don't we go inside the town? I'm sure your tired." He said as I looked at the white stallion, positioned in front of the carriage. He opened the gate. As he put his jacket around me. The sleeves hanged over my arms and covered my back. He took my hand as he helped me into the carriage and went inside with the horse. The gates was closed behind us.
I looked around at the town going by. Everything was so different than before. The carriage stopped in front of a building. He helped me down as he took me to the entrance. "So. I told you my name, but what is yours?" I asked him as I looked at his walnut brown eyes. "I'm Basil." He said as he knocked on the door. I didn't know much about him but he looked like a decent man to me. "So, what do you work as?" I questioned him as he looked at my pale white face. "I deliver stuff from the town to the neighbouring town's and shops." He said as the door of the place opened and he left. I was quite uncomfortable now but I knew I could manage. "Yes? What would you like young lady?" An old man said as he looked me in shockness. "Hello kind sir. But I would like a place to rest for the night." I said as I bent over so I could talk to him. "Sure. You can stay for the night." He said as he was blushing and I walked in. "Thank you for letting me stay here, kind sir." I said as I walked inside. "You are always welcome to the inn." He said as he took my hand. "Come. I will show you to your room." He said as he pulled me up the stairs and walked me down the hallway. "This man is strange. But not only that, everything here is strange and different. I never knew that a place like this ever existed." I thought as we stopped outside a room. "This is your room for the night. I hope you enjoy your stay here." He said as he waved at me and left. I opened the door to my room and walked inside.
The walls of the room was very pale. There was paper laying all over the floor. The black blanket was laying half way on the floor. There was a gas lamp on the table next to the bed and candles on the table across the bed. The old, red curtains were wide opened. Everything in that room was a mess but I couldn't be picky at all. This room is all I had to stay in. I started to tidy up the place. I put all the papers away and made my way to the curtains. I could see a sky full of stars outside. I looked down to see two guys standing there. I couldn't really identify who they were but they were certainly someone. I heard a knock on the door and went to check who it was. I opened the door but no one was there at all. It was just an empty hallway.
I turned around only to get spooked by a figure so I screamed out in fear. In front of me, stood Canterbury. I held my chest and laughed. I didn't know what to say because this was ridiculous. "Who in the world will just come into someone's room in the middle of the night?" I asked as I sensed something strange down the hallway. Someone else was there. I rushed out and went down the hallway. I peeped into one of the rooms where I sensed someone. I knew it was a reaper. Inside, was a young man with wavy, short blond hair that was dyed black at the bottom half. He had a cowlick at the right portion of his hair. He had chartreuse phosphorescent eyes.
I looked as cinematic records came out of the corpse. The corpse was off a woman. "What the-" I started. I'm not sure who she was but the reaper turned to the door, maybe because he heard me. I could see a strange looking machine that he was holding. I was fascinated with what he had. I ducked by the wall as he looked at the wall. "Who is there?" He asked as I couldn't respond. Fear had taken over my voice and I was frightened to talk to a reaper. But I had to say something to him in response. I couldn't be rude to him and just ignore his words and consent. "It's only me." I said as it was the first thing I could think of and I walked into the room. I felt a bit shy towards that. He looked at me shocked. I heard screaming from down the hallway and I went to go and see what happened. Walking up and down this hallway made the wooden floor creak and make noises. I creeper through the inky darkness as I came to the room where I heard the screams.
Just then, a hand with long skinny fingers that had hair on it was a bit brownish, was placed on my left shoulder. Turning around to see the person, I was faced with a man with matted hair and worted skin. He looked at me with cunning, reptile eyes and he grabbed my arm and pulled me off. "Hey! Please. Let me go." I said as he took to my room and left me inside. After that, he was gone. I was forced to stay there as I looked at the selves. There wasn't anything very interesting on those selves. I got on my bed and stayed like that for the night...
