Cuba is finally in his house. He sighed peacfully and fell in his bed, sleeping at the moment. He had the same dream as the night before but this time he didn't want to woke up from it. Was he so desperate to have more allies than only the socialist countries?
His dream didn't last for long as his alarmed started to vibrate, telling him that a new day was about to start. As Cuba stretched out, he thinked about Venezuela's deal. He wanted to start prodcucing the double of sugar his people normally produced in a year so that he could have the sufficent money to give food to Venezuela and himself. He got his phone and immediatly called one of his co-workers. Unfortunately, as he talked with him, Cuba finded out that the tractors needed to get the sugar where all broken.
"Damn it, just when I thought things where going to get better." Cuba thought as he hanged up. He went to the kitchen and started making coffee, he needed to do something or his exportations to other countries would decrease rapidly. Suddenly, he had an idea.
"Maybe I could ask China for help. He normally buys huge amounts of sugar and niquel from me so it's impossible he will not deny" He thought as he got up and started writing a letter to China. He didn't want to call him at once as he knew the chinease country would be occupied and wouldn't attend his call.
A few weeks later, a reply arrived. It said that China was willing to help Cuba but he would have to pay him back in the future with some of his crops. He also said that he needed a very important piece of equipment needed but it was only produced in the USA. The Cuban sighed, knowing that as he was closer to America, he would need to get that equipment from him. China saying that he would pay for everything maked the Cuban a bit less concerned of what will happen in USA's house.
"Why do I need to see him again?" he thought as he got a backpack where he would place the equipment. He then went out of his house and went in direction to USA's house, that was a bit north from his house.
When he arrived, USA was already at the door. Looks like China already told him everything "Hello again! I'm glad you could make it." He said with a smile on his face. He looked as the thing that happened the last night was just a dream that never happened before. USA led the Cuban into his house.
"Please, have a seat." He offered, as they entered the living room. The Cuban hesitated for a bit before sitting down on a couch. "I'm sorry about what happened last night." The American said with sincere eyes. Cuba sighed, cursing his bad luck at not trying to make the American forget what happened in Venezuela's house "It was just a misunderstanding." USA added.
The Cuban didn't believe him for a second but he decided to hear him out. "What do you want from me?" He asked coldly. The American's smile faded and his demeanor changed completely as he leaned forward and took the Cuban's hand in his own.
"I just want us to be friends."
The Cuban withdrew his hand and stood up, "I only came here for China's equipment." He said.
"Oh yeah...right" The American said as he cleared his throat and headed into another room.
Cuba looked at his hand, just where USA's where just a second ago. He just didn't belive USA was so decided in improving their relationships, if he was the one that ruined it.
Suddenly, an idea popped up. If USA was so determined in making better relationships with him, then that's what he would do. He will pretend it and use the American in his advantage so his economy wouldn't keep descending. The Cuban smirked and followed USA into the other room.
"Hey, can I talk to you for a second?" Cuba asked as he poked his head into the other room.
"Yeah sure." USA said plainly, not looking up from his work.
Cuba walked in and sat down next to him "Look, I'm sorry about what happened earlier." He said solemnly.
USA looked at him and put his hand on Cubas shoulder "It's okay man, mistakes happen." He said with a smile before getting back to work.
Cuba smiled and shook his head "No, I mean I'm sorry for what I did. It was uncalled for."
USA chuckled "Well, that might be true but it doesn't change the fact that it was a mistake."
Cuba looked down at the ground and sighed "I know, I just can't help but feel angry all the time."
"That's understandable, given your history. But you can't let that anger control you." USA said as he put his hand on Cubas shoulder once more. "You need to learn to control it or it will consume you."
Cuba looked up at USA and nodded. "I know, I'm working on it. But maybe...this thing of trying again a second time, maybe it's not that bad."
"Really? I will try not to waste this oportunity" USA smiled and patted Cuba's shoulder before handing him the paper he was writing in and a package. "Here is the thing you needed. China already told me he would pay everything so just give him this, ok?"
Cuba took the paper and looked down at it. "Sure"
He put the paper in his pocket and turned to leave, but USA called out to him.
"Hey, Cuba?"
Cuba stopped and looked back at USA. "Yeah?"
"Thanks for forgetting the past. Anything more I could help you with?"
"Yes, could you take of the embargo?"
USA laughed, as it was some kind of joke. "Good try Cuba, but that will not happen right now."
Cuba nodded before continuing on his way. "Stupid" he thought as he crossed the door of USA's house and headed to his own home.
