Mary was relived and so happy to see him she smirked "Took you long enough! I was beginning to think I would ride the train by myself!"

Harper laughed sitting in the seat across from her. "Well what you said got me thinking, maybe if you can even do a little it can still make a difference." Harper looked at the ground impressed by how deep that was.

Mary smiled what he said was true. Even if she cant fight the fact that she still wants to do something is amazing.

The train arrived at the town in the morning Harper woke up to Chief licking his face nonstop. He sat up "Aww come on chief whats the deal?" When his vision cleared he saw Mary chuckling to herself.

"Whats so funny?" He scratched his head and realized his greasy hair was no longer in a ponytail, it was now sticking out and making him look like a sleepy porcupine.

Harper chuckled "Okay where's my hairband?" Mary shrugged and handed him her hairbrush, he needed it more than she did.

"Thanks." He held the hairbrush as he stood up looking for his lost hairband.

Mary stood up as well gathering her hair into a low ponytail. She picked up her bag and harper exclaimed "Aha! There you are!" He brushed and pulled his hair into a high ponytail, his usual hairstyle. Then he handed the brush back to Mary and smirked "Lets go break a curse."

She shoved the brush back into her bad and smiled.

"Lets do it!"

As they walked out of the train Harper told her about coming here as a kid. He told her about the fresh bread at the inn that they freely give, and how everyone is super friendly!

Mary got exited as they walked to this stone wall with two guards standing in front of it.

Harper tilted his head in confusion "They weren't there before..."

They walked closer and when they stood right in front of the guards one of them opened his hand and demanded "five gold each."

Harper shook his head "Five gold? We need to pay?!" Harper scanned through his memories of when he was there before and he specifically remembered not having to pay for anything.

Mary glared at Harper "You failed to mention that." She began to search through her bag for five gold.

Harper stuck his hands up in his defense "I didn't know!" He began to search through his pockets but all he found was some pocket lint.

Mary was only able to find three gold so she offered it to the guards "This is all I have sorry."

The guard took it from her without another word and stuck them into a box. Mary thought he was going to let them in that this guy must have been being generous but when she asked all he responded with was "Five gold to enter."

She sighed "I only had three though so can you give me my money back?"

The other guard looked like he was trying very hard not to laugh as he replied with "Your donation is appreciated ma'am."

Mary's face twisted to rage and before she could say anything Harper grabbed her arm and pulled her away until they were out of earshot.

"Those Jerks!" Mary cliched onto her bag like she wanted to tear it to pieces.

"We got to get into that city!" Harper perked up like he just came up with the most genius idea ever.

He smirked as he looked at her "You think they will let the exorcist in?" Mary let go of her bag "Your right!"

The two of then started to walk back to the men. As soon as they were there one of them chuckled as the other spat "Oh so you have money now?"

Mary looked at Harper expecting him to say something but he just stood there almost frozen.

Mary panicked for a second than calmed down "Well We heard that this town has a bit of a cursed problem."

The guards look at each other than back at her. "We did but the situation is being handled."

Harper flashed a tense fake smile and grabbed Mary's shoulder "You hear that! They've got it under control!"

Harper turned to walk away but Chief stood in his way. Mary grabbed his hand and whipped him back to her side and smiled "This guy can help get rid of the problem completely!" Harper froze again trying to look confident.

The guards chuckled again "And how is he going to do that?"

Mary looked at Harper like she wanted him to answer, he noticed and managed to say "We-Well thats be-because I-I am the uhhh..." Chief barked loudly scaring everyone except Harper who finally could talk clearly. "Im the Exorcist!"

This time the guards didn't chuckle, they laughed so hard they were both in tears. "You? You're just a kid!"

Harper folded his arms as he grunted "Im not a kid, you're just old."

One of the guards looked curious as he went to open the gate. "Well of corse we will let you in!" The other one whispered in protest and all Mary could hear was the other one answer "If there's any chance we can get rid of that selfish brat we should take it!"

The way he said Selfish Brat got her thinking that maybe things aren't the way they seem. Mary looked up at Harper to see if he noticed the same but the more the gate opened the stiffer he became.

Mary concentered thanking the guards but she didn't want to so she just walked through, Harper soon followed her after briefly thanking the guards.
