As Nick woke up the next morning, it was already 10:39am, pretty much the longest Nick had slept in a while. He wandered into the bathroom mindlessly, not taking care of wether there is someone in there or not. He didn't see Karl in his bed, so he thought his friend might just be up already and already eating breakfast or something.
He grabbed the doorhandle and opened it. A good smell and a bit of steam greeted him, as well as a fresh out the shower Karl. Wet hair, only a towel around his hips, damp skin, the whole package. Karl slowly turned around, Nick still absolutely frozen as he had not expected this at all. The look of Karl's body didn't help though. To top it all off, Karl's sister tumbled in. „Geez! Get a room guys." she complained. „Anyway, Karl, have you seen my charger?"
„N-no i haven't Cat."
„Cute how you're both red as hell. Mind if i borrow yours?"
„i don't mind, do what you want." Karl managed to bring out.
„Great, thanks, uhm, about my bir-"
„Cat."
„What?"
„Not the time. Can we PLEASE talk about this later?"
„What's so awkward about this situation anyway? Isn't Nick like, your best friend?"
„Keith I swear to god. Leave. Please."
And she did.
„Karl I am so sorry! I didn't know you were here and-" Nick started to apologize. Karl interrupted him. „Nick, it's fine. Pretty sure you would've seen this sight anyway sooner or later. Okay, maybe not exactly this sight in this context, but a somewhat similar sight. It's alright. Don't worry about it."
„No nothing's fine! I should've knocked!"
„Well you didn't. And i'm sorry about Cat, i told you she's a weirdo sometimes."
„Y-your skin?" Nick brought out confused.
„Oh, yea, that. I'll tell you about it somewhen, but i'm just not ready for this conversation right now."
„Oh, okay. Guess i'll go use the bathroom downstairs."
„uh, yea." Karl stammered. „Don't forget to say good morning to my parents when you pass the kitchen!" he shouted after his friend.
And Nick did. Though he still had to pee very urgently. The entire day he couldn't stop thinking about what happened this morning. He needed to tell Clay about it.
