Only minutes later, Nick came back to the room. Karl was sat on his bed, hugging his knees. „Karl? Are you alright?" Nick asked.
„Not really." he responded, holding back tears and trying to blink them away. Nick set aside the drinks he had just gotten for themselves to sit beside his partner. „Hey Karl? It's alright you can let it out." he said, holding the now shaking boy close.

„My ex has just been bugging me." Karl sobbed into Nick's arms. „But that isn't that bad, is it?"
„It is. This was the first time we've interacted in a year, she broke up with me one and half ago, and she just really treated me bad and suddenly she wants me back."
Karl sobbed bitterly.
„Hey, hey, it's okay, there's no need to worry. She can't hurt you." Nick tried to comfort the shaking mess he was cradling.
„She asked me if i was free tomorrow." Karl managed to bring out between sobs.
„You don't have to say yes? Also, you aren't! You're coming to the bakery with me tomorrow, and after that we've got band practice, haven't we?"
„Yea."
„So? She won't be able to find you, and even if she does, you're always with at least two other people."
„That sounds good." Karl said, slowly calming down.

But then at practice, the worst case came true.
„I'll get it!" Cat shouted as she rushed to the door, finding Mia standing there.
„Mia? The fuck are you doing here?"
„Well i asked Karl if he was free today and didn't get an answer, so i figured to just come over."
„Huh that's odd, normally he keeps his Saturdays very busy and free for other activities. I'll go get him though, stay here." Kate said as she made her way to the garage.

„Karl, there's someone here to see you."
„Uh oh." Nick murmured.
„Oh god. Nick are you coming along, please?" Karl asked.
„Wait what's happening?" Wilbur questioned.
„My ex is here."
„Oh shit Mia?"
„Yup."
„Holy shit i'm also coming with you, someone's gotta protect you from that beast."
„Thanks Will." Karl chuckled.
