"Hey Addison are you going to Joe's tonight?"
The redhead turned to see Meredith standing behind her. She was slightly surprised at the blonde's proposition. "I was thinking of skipping the bar tonight actually"
"Oh come on please? I don't want to be drinking alone tonight"
Addie narrowed her eyes, seemingly thinking for a little while. Then she looked at Meredith's pleading face and no one could've said no to the blonde.
"Fine. Let's go" she finally gave in.
Meredith and Addison, ever since that night they spent at Mer's, they've become what you could consider friends. They would talk and hang out outside of work at times but they weren't as close as let's say Mer with the interns or Addison with Mark and Callie. But they did have fun together. People definitely did find it weird. Actually, Mark and Callie did address it with Addie.
While Addison was having lunch with her two friends, Meredith comes up to them with a hoodie in her hands.
"Addison you forgot your sweater at my place the other day. So I washed it" she said with a bright smile
The redhead smiled back at the younger woman and she took her hoodie back."Thanks, Meredith I've been looking all over for this thing"The blonde then waved and left just as fast as she came. Addison went back to eating her food until she realized that two pairs of judgemental eyes were staring at her. She looks up at Callie and Mark and one looked at her surprised and the other, amused. She raised an eyebrow"Why are you looking at me like that?"
" You shouldn't be the one who's asking questions" Callie quipped right back. The ginger rolled her eyes"What do you wanna know?" It was Callie's turn to roll her eyes"The obvious question? Why are you friends with your soon-to-be ex-husband's ex-mistress?
"Woah hold up. Who said anything about being friends with her?"
"Well, then you're sleeping with her?" Mark quipped back. Addison quickly shut it down" Absolutely not. Well, it happened once, but not in the way you would think. I fell asleep on her couch." Now, both of her friends were completely lost.
"I went over to her house to make sure she was doing okay and she ended up asking me to stay and watch a movie with her, we lost track of time and we fell asleep on the couch. That's literally all there is to it."
"Checking up on her? Why? You just said you weren't her friend" The redhead put her head in her hand. She couldn't believe she had to explain everything to Callie and Mark, of all people. AKA the most nosy people to have ever existed. "Alright bear with me here. We're friends but we aren't really friends because well...you know. But we act like friends because we check up on one another because we both suffered at the actions of the same man which technically links us in a way that nobody else understands so we talk to one another about are feelings which technically, maybe we should be friends I'd have to ask her and I'm just as confused about everything as you two are now. So that sums it up. Any questions?"
Mark and Callie both shook their heads, both being a bit confused. Mark then whispered to Callie."Did you understand anything she just said?" Callie just shook her head"Not when she talks faster than the speed of light. And we're doctors, that's saying something"
Callie was suspicious. Addison subconsciously had the strangest demeanor lately and while she had an idea where this would eventually lead, she kept quiet on her thoughts, mostly because even she found it a little crazy.
Addison kept thinking about the conversation over and over. She didn't know why it bothered her so much. After all, she had every right to be friends with her right? It's not like they're breaking the law. They are just 2 women who are breaking the stigma around the wife and the mistress.
