Chapter 3: A New Family

"I'm so sorry that happened to you." Charlotte said with sadness while cupping her mouth with her hands. Asta had just gotten done with telling the Clover mages his life. He chuckled and rubbed the back of his head, "Eh, that's war." He said. "So in short, you're the prince of Ace, your childhood friend left you because of Spade, the people who taught you all you know are under Spade's control, and your dad died." Yami said seriously. "That sums it up." Asta said. "Also, is she asleep?" He said pointing at Dorthy. "You'll get used to that," Mereo said waving it off, "Anyways what are you going to do now?" Asta thought for a little, "Honestly I don't know. I always thought that we would win, but those mages were powerful." He pulled out his grimoire, "Another thing that bothers me is that this had a 5-leaf clover on it, and not an ace club like it has now." The Clover mages' eyes widened at the words '5-leaf clover'. Asta noticed this, "Are you okay?" Asta said close to Acier's face. Her face flushed red, "Y-Yes, can you please back up?" She asked. He gave her a questioning look and backed away.

TIMESKIP

"Ugh, what happened?" A blonde man said holding his head. He looked down at the couch he was laying on, "The hell is this thing made of?" "Sir Julius! The Wizard King has called for you!" A voice yelled while knocking on a wooden door. A sigh is heard from the man, "Alright, I'll be there in one sec." He muttered. Footsteps are heard indicating that the voice left. A smirk slid onto his face almost as fast as his grey robe did. "Should have a few minutes before I have to work." Julius muttered while...... jumping out of a window. He teleported from rooftop to rooftop, in search of something. Then, he felt a huge blast of mana from a nearby forest. "Perfect." He said in his mind excitedly. The closer he flew, the more excitement built up inside.

"Take this! Pure Void Magic: Sub-Space Eclipse!"

After those words a large circular portion of the forest suddenly disappeared. "Shit" Was the only word he could think of. Who was this? What is pure or void magic? He had many questions that were about to be answered. In no time the portion return in perfect placement like nothing had ever happened. Julius flew down and was met with a surprising scene. A boy with ash-grey hair stood in front of the most promising rookies of the exams. His mana seemed different than the others. The top two recruits for the exams stood exhausted and wide eyed at his power. "Told cha' he's good." A familiar foreigner said, leaning on a tree. "Shut it, foreigner." The silver haired boy said. A orange-red haired boy stood up and bowed. "You are certainly a royal." He complimented the boy and straightened up once again. Julius started to descend and slow clap. The Clover mages instantly put up their salute, but the different mage looked in confusion.

One Hour Before

"We haven't even introduced ourselfs yet." William said in realization. "I'll start, I'm Mereoleana Vermillion. Eldest child of the royal house of Vermillion. But, most people call me Mereo." Mereo said while pointing her thumb at her self and grinning. "I am Acier Silva, eldest of the royal house of Silva." Acier said while bowing. "I'm Elline Kira! Only child of the Kira family!" Elline said proudly with her hands on her hips. "Yami Sukihero at your service or whatever." He said putting a stem of wheat into his mouth. "I am William Vangence." William said, giving a slight bow. "Charlotte Rosiei, from the house of Rosiei." Charlotte declared. "Who's her?" Asta asked while pointing at Dorthy once again. "She's Dorthy Unsworth, her magic requires her to sleep most of the time. It's weird." Yami explained. "What if I come to Clover with you?" Asta asked out of the blue. "Why?" Mereo asked suspiciously. "It's not like I have anywhere else to go. With everything that's happened, I'm surprised I haven't destroyed the entire Spade Kingdom." He said while playing with a circular wormhole in his fingers. "I have a feeling he hasn't told us his whole story." Yami said in his mind with a slight glare. "I'm sure Clover will accept you if you do come, Asta." Acier ensured the boy. "Then it's decided," Mereo began while sitting up, "Asta here is coming back to Clover with us." She declared while grinning. "And why do I feel warm about it?" The (Awake) girls thought weirdly.
