𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟓

It was tense.

Jin found it uncomfortable, he had never really sat through such an awkward dinner before. He glanced at Namjoon, his eyes red and staring off into space.

Yoongi seems the same.

While the rest of them looked equally lost, except So-hee who was quietly eating her dinner. She looked exhausted too.

" Okay, can anyone tell me why we're so awkward tonight? " he sighs softly,
" what's the occasion? We're never like this. "

Namjoon snaps out of his trance, looking up. " I—" he gulped, " I went to pd-nim this morning. "

" What did he say? " Jungkook frowned, " All of them are acting so weird. "

Yoongi shifts in his seat uncomfortably, " We should finish the dinner first. We'll discuss this later. "

None of them argue, clueless but also worried seeing Yoongi so bothered. Namjoon was Namjoon, he is the leader and he tends to worry about everything nonetheless.

But Yoongi was the epitome of unbotherness, and seeing him so worried and....scared made them all go quiet and scarf down their food before they all gather in the living room.

Yoongi glanced at Namjoon again, he didn't seem ready to speak up at all. He gulped, " Pd-nim gave him a new contract today. For the renewal since the current one ends next year. "

" Are we signing again? For how many years, hyung? " Jungkook beams and Yoongi smiled, pained.

" I don't think we're signing it, Kook. "

" What? "

" Why?! "

" None of us are going to like it. " Yoongi mumbles quietly, fiddling with his thumbs. " I personally wouldn't. "

" Yoongi, what's going on? "

So-hee bites the inside of her cheek, glancing at each one of them, then Namjoon who was still staring into nothingness.

" the contract doesn't has my name in it. " Almost instantly, their heads whip at her, So-hee slumps against the couch, curious if her hunch was right.

She knew it was coming, and hearing it from Namjoon had really confirmed her suspicions earlier this afternoon.

" Excuse me? " Jin frowned and Yoongi nods, " Pd-nim said he can't involve So-hee with this group anymore. " he mumbled cautiously, " So he's excluding her from the new contract. "

After a good few minutes of silence, all of them glanced at each other, anger evident on their features.

" What does he think he's doing? " Hoseok spoke up, his tone sharp. " None of us are going to sign a God damn contract if he thinks it's that easy to throw one of us out. Is this a joke to him?! "
