It was late when you left the Headquarters, but you had agreed with Baji that if you left around night-time you could wait for him on the park near his place since he had a place to go with the gang and would meet you there when he went home so that you could go together.

You watched the big clock under one of the streetlamps and could see that it was almost midnight and even though the elements didn't have an effect on you, you could tell the night was cold. And quiet.

Which was strange for a summer night. But then again, given the hours it wasn't as strange that the only sound you could hear was the one from the gentle swishing of rustling leaves and the chirping crickets.

Against your will, the silence around you made your mind go back to the talk you had had with Tae, and how you came to realize that maybe you cared a little too much about Baji. More than a Guardian Angel should. But before you could get into another depressive episode, a familiar voice reached you ears, snapping you out of your almost-trance.

Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.

However, when Baji's figure enters your field of vision and you get a good look at his figure, you can barely move, and not because the moonlight makes his eyes stand out and shine like a million stars, or because of the way his hair falls down his shoulders like waves.

No.

Because his eyes are swollen and have a purple tint to the skin surrounding them. Because his hair is all messed up, with half of it out of the ponytail he had earlier in the evening. Because his movements are jerky. Because he has blood all over his face and a busted lip.

Because he is all beaten up.

"Baji-san!" you yelp in fear, running up to him. Earlier thoughts all but forgotten.

Up close, you can see that the damage is worse than what you thought and that he is guarding his left side with his hands. From all the times you had seen him return from a fight, you have never seen him so bad like today. "What happened?"

"...You should have seen the other guys."

Ignoring his little joke and the grin on his face, you move to stand next to his left side and try to move his hands. "Let me see." At your request, Baji moves his hands away from his side and looks as you replace them with yours. A few seconds later you frown and look at him. "Broken rib... It may take a few minutes, but I think I can heal you..."

"You don't have to. You know that, right?"

"But I want to." Shaking your head at the familiar question, you gesture Baji towards the bench next to him. Once sat in a comfortable position, you kneel in front of him and raise your hands and start healing him, completely unaware of the way his eyes soften.

He couldn't help it, really, he couldn't. No matter how many times he tried to keep up his bad boy persona, every time he saw you heal him and handle him with such care, he couldn't help but fall deeper and deeper for you.
