Paimon silently watches as the renowned traveler wipes yet another hilichurl group with relative ease.

He tosses his sword to the side after the final vermin crumbles into a black ash that quickly dissipates in the wind. The sword disintegrates into a sparkling mess before reappearing near his back to linger for a few moments longer just in case it was needed.

Paimon is quick to reappear by his side from her spot within a nearby tree, helping the silent blonde with gathering his earnings. As she hands them off she gets a closer look at the faint scowl he had been wearing and the soft dew of sweat giving his perfect skin an ethereal glow.

He mutters a thank you as he gracefully shoves them into the impossibly deep satchel attached to his hip before turning around to check on the careless adventurer they had just saved.

This had to be the third time this week he's gotten himself into trouble, if Aether is annoyed he does a good job at hiding it as he calmly listens to the man's praise and collects his reward.

They both watch as the flustered man gathers his bearings before running off, the ghost of a scowl returning to the travelers face, the faint flush from his fight just minutes ago has all but disappeared.

"What's the matter, Aether?"

Seemingly snapped out of his thoughts the scowl once again vanishes as he glances at the curious pixie, he looks like he wants to retort to his usual it's nothing before shaking his head and thinking better of it.

They were past that after all, she had been there for him since the beginning of his quest. The small pixie was a trusted companion and his best friend, knowing him long enough to understand him on a familial level. A rather endearing aspect about the normally dense fae.

"It's my preheat, I can tell that it's gonna be hitting soon."

"Oh..." Paimon says before the weight of realization hits her, " OH , right, it's that time of year again, huh?"

The blonde gives a half smile as he nods, he thinks back to his previous heat nearly six months prior and how his floating companion had helped him maintain his health through the taxing ordeal. Putting up with his hormonal preheat, being unbelievably kind and understanding during such a trying time of emotion and carnal desire. Just like she did all his heats prior.

Aether cringes when he thinks back to the heats before he had his Serenitea pot. When he had forced them to huddle in a cave on Dragonspine for that awful week because he was too scared and stubborn to check into an inn.

Paimon had been there to keep him alive despite the blistering cold, cooking him meals and petting his hair in an attempt to help with his insatiable need to be held.

Since receiving his tea pot his heats had been much easier to deal with, no longer worrying about accidentally nesting in some dingy and unfit cave.

Or, Archons forbid, unwanted guests seeing him in such a pitiful and vulnerable state.

Before he was never really one to nest, never truly having the need when he was always on the move with Lumine. But these past heats since arriving in Teyvat he's been having that persistent need to call somewhere home, the Serenitea pot and Paimon offered that much needed comfort.

"Paimon supposes we should start stockpiling for that, gonna need some ingredients for soup," she thoughtfully mutters as she holds her chin between her tiny index finger and thumb.

"We have more than enough ingredients so we'll be fine on that part," Aether waves his hand dismissively as he begins to walk towards the path leading to Dawn Winery like they had originally been doing.
