THE MORNING after Odeya woke up in a tangled mess of limbs. Last night she had fell asleep with Derek next to her and now his arms were around her holding her like he never wanted her to leave them. He looked peaceful in his sleep, no worry, guilt, anger in his face. He just looked like Derek, the Derek Odeya remembered.

She laid there for a while, engulfing the sunlight seeping through the gigantic window behind them, taking in every second of right here right now.

Then her phone lit up and she read it was past 3 meaning school was over.

"Shit" she cursed pulling herself out of the bed despite Dereks protests. "I'm late, they're gonna kill me"

Derek opened his eyes, "Late for what?"

Odeya sighed, pulling off one of his shirts and changing back into her own clothes that didn't reek of Hale. "Remember those dread thingies that tried to kill us yesterday?" when he nodded she continued, "Well there's a book some guy from Eichen wrote and apparently Tracy, one of the victims, read it before she was killed, we think the hallucinations she had were from the book. So the groups reading it at Scotts and hoping it leads to something. I was supposed to be there twenty minutes ago" she explained.

Derek sat up, grabbing the shirt she took off and throwing it over himself, "Wait you guys are willingly reading a book that might end up with you guys dead?" he questioned, and it didn't sound any better when he said it.

"Yes" she nodded.

"Your sure you can't just come back to bed and pretend you forgot?" he asked, Odeya shook her head. "Then I'm coming"

IT WAS hard to miss the looks the pack gave them when Odeya and Derek showed up at Scott's front door. Lydia was the only one thing who seemed proud of her decision. She could tell they had a million questions they were holding back from asking. Now the group sat in Scott's living room while the two tried to catch up to where everyone else was in the book. Odeya wouldn't admit it to anyone but sitting next to Derek and being able to literally feel his body heat from here was making it a little distracting but she tried her best.

"Anyone feel any thing yet?" Scott asked a few minutes later.

"Tired" and "Hungry" Kira and Lydia responded.

Theo held up the book with a look Odeya couldn't quite place, "I think he meant the book. . ." he responded.

Odeya still wasn't sure how she felt about him, on one hand she vaguely remembered hanging out with him a few times as a kid and he seemed pretty ordinary but on the other something about him creeped her out, like he was really messed up in some way none of them could see.

The pack was quiet, Stiles and Malia talking in the kitchen and that was another thing that worried her, Stiles and his shoulder. The night at the school Donavon had used his hand. . .teeth or whatever and literally bitten him, taking a chunk of skin with it. She had begged him to go get Melissa to check it out but the Stilinski's were stubborn and he insisted going to her would do more harm then good.

She attempted to get through a few more pages but Kira was passing out, Scott looked like he was in another place right now and Theo, well, he looked fine. Derek had his eyes in half slits, on the edge of falling asleep. This wasn't working, at least she thought it wasn't until she heard a voice.

"Odeya" somebody called out.

She looked around slowly, nobody in the pack looking at her, she shook her head, brushed it off and kept reading.

"Look at me" the same voice said.

This time she knew she wasn't hearing things, there was a voice calling out to her. And she knew it was her ex Carson's.

She stood up, ignoring the way everyone's heads snapped up to look at her.

"You okay?" Derek asked, concerning wringing in his face.

She nodded, not making eye contact, "I'll be right back" she said not waiting for an answer before heading upstairs to her room.

This wasn't possible, it wasn't possible he was here or even in Beacon anymore. She'd been sure of it before she ever thought about coming back, he graduated, he left, and never came back.

But why could she hear him calling out to her?

"You always come back, like a dog that won't fucking learn" Carson said, she turned around and instead of just hearing him there he was, standing right in front of her.

"Why are you here? how are you here?" she questioned, making sure to keep a good amount of space between them.

"You're pathetic you know that? Spent all those years begging for my attention and then ran like a coward. They were happy without you, I was happy without you. But then you came back. The prodigal daughter returns, acting like nothing happened, like you didn't fucking kill him, like you weren't responsible for him. Well you're not all that innocent, you're a killer!" he screamed.

And just like that Odeya was reduced to the person she used to be, the Odeya before she left. The Odeya she never wanted to be again.

She fell to the floor, crawling as far into the corner as she could, wrapping her arms around her legs and her head down in her lap.

"Go away, go away, go away" she repeated like a mantra, "Not real, not real, not real"

She stayed there for a few minutes, not meaning to let out the little hiccups of sobs that she had. He terrified her and he knew it, she knew it. She could convince herself all she wanted that she wasn't but all it took was one yell from him and she was back to that relationship, back to those days where she didn't have the dignity to leave.

"Odeya"

That voice was different, it was Scott. She lifted her head, facing the entire pack in her room, Derek bent down on his knees next to her clearly trying to get her attention, Stiles rubbing her back and the others just staring, unsure what to do.

"You're okay, it was just the book, whatever you saw was from the book" Scott assured at the same time Stiles asked what happened.

She shook her head, wiping away whatever was left of her tears. "I'm okay, I'm okay" she tried her best to convince, "But I don't think it was the book" she admitted.

This had nothing to do with the dread doctors, this wasn't a memory she forgot, this was something new. Like he had actually been in the room with her.

"What do you mean?" Derek asked.

Odeya shook her head again, "I don't know how to explain it but he was literally in the room, I felt him push me. It wasn't some suppressed memory, he was really here"

"Who? Who was here?" Stiles asked her, not following.

That was enough for today, she already looked like a nut job, there was no way she would be telling them able him after the way they just found her.

"It's nothing guys, I'm fine" she said trying to let out a laugh that just sounded pained. "I overreacted, I'm sure it's nothing"

It wasn't nothing, and she knew it.
