FOR SOME unholy reason Odeya decided to go on a jog later during the day. She had never been one who would have never voluntarily run before but after everything she had gone through the idea kind of excited her. She didn't really know where she was going to go, maybe she'd visit her friends on their lunch break or something, she wasn't sure.

She didn't even understand how her Dad have actually let her go out.

It had been nearly a week since she had come back from the dead and nothing had changed. Noah continued telling Odeya she couldn't go back to school until she was one hundred percent recovered and healthy. Which wasn't the best news since it was her senior year and if she didn't enrol soon there would be no chance of graduating with everyone else. And he barely let her leave the house unless it was with him or Stiles. She understood why he was so overprotective but she felt smothered.

As soon as the wind hit her face and the small amount of sunlight followed afterward Odeya smiled. She took off down the street with a headphone in one ear and her phone tucked away in one of her leggings pockets. The first thing she noticed were the blisters she would most likely get tomorrow after deciding to run in the only shoes she had; white low cut Vans. It wasn't like she didn't have any other options-well she had boots and slippers but she wouldn't really benefit from either of them so she was stuck with her Vans.

Nearly half a mile later Odeya made it onto a bridge that looked over one of the few lakes in Beacon Hills. She panted with sweat dripping down her face and cheeks as red as a tomato. But for once she didn't care what she looked like, she didn't even care who saw her like this. Because for the first time since she had gotten back to real life she actually felt alive. The ache in her chest every time she breathed in and out helped remind her she wasn't in that coffin anymore, no, she was out here in the real world. She was alive and she had survived. Even when her mind told her she wouldn't, told her she was destined for failure, she had made it this far. And that was further then she ever thought she'd make it.

Her phone vibrated in her back pocket before she could even realize someone was calling. Odeya assumed it was either Stiles or her father so when she saw Derek on the phone screen she couldn't help the flash of shock that made it on her face.

It felt like she was dreaming all of a sudden. For the first three rings she just stared at the phone like it would attack her any moment now. Her fingers skimmed over the answer button but she couldn't bring herself to push it. Why was he calling? had someone told him she was alive? would he be mad at her for not telling him herself?

Enough was enough, Odeya knew she would regret it if she didn't answer and if she didn't answer then there was no way she would gain the courage to call back later. So with a sigh and a hand wiping away the sweat on her forehead she hit the green answer button.
