Chapter 13: Sarah Lawiscky - New Fights, New Friends.
"Finally, the third question; Are you in love with me like I'm in love with you?"
I knew the answer right away because I had been asking a question similar to that for a long time. My question would be 'Given the choice, who would I choose: Nate or Eric?' I feel like deep down I knew the answer all along. I know the answer now. But it is just a matter of hurting someone and making another happy.
Eric is such a nice guy. He is charing and sweet when he wants to be. Just the same he can be the exact opposite, dirty and scary. But he is always kind with me. I like him very much for someone in high school. He is just so....nice.
Nate is a different story though. I have known him my whole life and have liked him unhealthily for most of it. He is just so incredibly awesome and a gentlemen. My heart falters at the sight of him, my mind races and spins when he looks at me, and his contact against my skin makes electricity spark everywhere. I am madly in love with him.
So if he says he is falling in love with me every second, and asks if I feel the same should I lie?
No.
"Yes."
We both just stood there for a minute. It felt like years honestly. I was glad class had started because I could then not worry about people coming and watching. We were still in the locker area though. That was like a key setting where bad stuff happened in books.
I hope this isn't like a book.
The tension that had formed was only affecting me. Nate looked perfectly fine with my answer. Relieved, actually. I found my cheeks very hot and I also was looking at the ground. I took a few steps back which snapped Nate out of his thinking faze. I took two more and backed myself into a corner.
Even more cliche.
"Are you afraid of me?" are the first words that come out of Nate's amused smile. I look up but don't meet his eyes, staring at his chest.
"N-no, just embarrassed." I respond, and then look down again. He took a few steps towards me until he was very close. He tilted my head up to meet his eyes. Looking in his crystal blue eyes made my heart beat two times faster.
"Why should you be embarrassed," he takes a step closer until our breathe mixed, "In front of someone you love?" And for the second time this week I was kissed by someone who wasn't my boyfriend.
The amount of feelings that exploded in my body made me feel really weird. I kissed him back and got waves of that same explosion. He pushed me against the corner slightly making the waves get stronger. I put my arms around him and pulled him closer if that was possible. His hands went around my back, which were moving all over.
After probably a minute we both separated to get air and I blushed at our actual setting.
"U-Um maybe we should g-go somewhere else" I murmured, looking down. My face went even more red when I noticed something poking out of Nate's jeans. I ignored it and looked back up at his face.
"Okay." he said, then looked around to see if there was anyone watching. "Follow me." Nate said then crept outside of the school. I followed him and was interested by all the turns and stuff. This secret route was very weird but Nate looked like he knew it.
When he finally went through one last door I followed him and was amazed at this hideout. The walls were stone with vines on a lot of them. there was this one opening with tons of vines dangling down, and it looked like it leaded somewhere.
"So this is where Eric, Gabby, Mat and me play hooky sometimes. Usually I don't come. Okay, I rarely come. Gabby said they were playing hooky today with Eric and Mat. That explains why they are not in there classes. I don't even have to check."
