They turned into beasts. They got addicted to drugs. They became paranoid. They stopped eating properly and developed diabetes. They started acting erratic. Many of them died in hospitals. Others died of starvation or infection while trying to find ways to survive in their miserable lives. Most of the people who survived the disease, however, died relatively quickly.
As the disease spread, though, they started showing signs of deterioration. They lost weight. They became weak. Soon, none of them even resembled the individuals they used to be. They no longer looked like normal people. Some of them started speaking gibberish. Others lost their minds completely. Some became violent. They attacked their neighbours for no apparent reason and killed without remorse, just because they could. Others went mad. Many of them tried to commit suicide in order to kill themselves. And eventually, all of them died.
