That night, the scientists came to a decision. It wasn't just a decision. They decided to abandon all their research on this virus and start working on ways to stop this evolution. They didn't even care if it meant putting millions of people in danger. They were willing to do whatever it took to protect their people. Even if it meant throwing away the future and its potential discoveries.
The scientists gathered all the data they could find about the virus. They collected all the samples of blood they could find. They collected all the samples of saliva they could find. They collected all the samples of sweat they could find. They collected all the samples of hair they could find. They collected all the samples of skin they could find. They collected all the samples of teeth they could find. They collected all the samples of blood they could find. Finally, the scientists were able to collect all the data they could gather.
Then, they began their first experiment. For two days, they experimented. They isolated the most valuable part of all. They isolated the blood. From the blood, they determined the percentage of virus DNA present. By the third day, they had identified the most critical component: blood. They could finally eliminate the majority of the virus from this group. Once they eliminated the majority of the virus from this group, they wouldn't be infected by the rest. They wouldn't be vulnerable to the disease.
This time, however, they didn't immediately decide to use their discovery in hopes of saving lives. They had to consider all the variables and calculate the risks carefully. To solve their problem, they analyzed the whole population of the infected population and came to the conclusion that they mustn't let the virus reproduce. They also concluded that the virus must be killed somehow. And this time, this decision was made for certain. they killed every infected person they can find on the road, and they left no trace. It was as though they never existed.
From that day onward, there would be no plague among the infected. Ever. There would be no plague ever again.
