Hey Siri, Play So Far by Olaflur Arnalds & Arnor Dan
"Buck..." Sara whispered as she glanced over to him, he was in shock and she didn't blame him. If she had met her children that she didn't know were hers. She would act the same way towards the situation.
"Daddy..." Pearl whispered as she touched his cheek. Bucky smiled at her softly before glancing over to Sara, he winked at her before turning his attention back to Pearl. "Yes ma'am. I am your daddy" He whispered as he put his hand over the tiny one that was placed on his cheek. Pearl smiled at him and ran back to Lora, little George was still standing infront of Bucky, staring at him intently.
"What is it pal?" Bucky asked, smiling over to him. George said nothing, but just stared at him for a while longer until he finally spoke, "I look just like you..." He whispered before walking over to Steve. Bucky straightened his posture and looked over to Winnie, who was staring at him with tears in her eyes. Sara put her head down before she spoke again "When I heard about your dad, I figured he should meet his grandkids. He deserves that... I didn't want to start anything...-" She paused when she felt Buckys hand wrap around hers.
"Let's go talk outside... this feels like a long overdue personal conversation, Ma can you watch them for a minute?" Bucky looked over to Winnie who was nodding her head furiously. "Ofcourse dear, go" She whispered waving them out of the room. Sara nodded and followed Bucky as he pulled her out of the room, she kept her head down most of the way. When they stopped she glanced up to see him staring at her, not in an angry way, but in a soft understanding way. She fumbled her hands around before he started to speak, breaking the painfully awkward silence.
"I'm not mad. If that's what you think, I am not. They are beautiful... my god I knew they were mine when I saw them as I walked in. I understand why you didn't tell me, you don't owe me an explaination there. I also understand why you wanted to wait to tell me, you wanted to be stable and for me to be stable. I get that with my whole heart..." He paused as the tears welled up in his eyes. "They knew who I was... how...?"
She grinned at him "They know who their parents are, I have never hid that from them. Aunt Jen never did either, we wanted to make sure that they knew who we were because undoubtedly... we both knew that we would be together again. They ask about you all the time, so if they ever ask how your trip was... go along with it" She giggled.
"Trip?"
"I told them that you were traveling for school and work, it was the only option I had at the time of the question." She breathed out glancing over at him, she noticed a single tear rolling down his cheek. "They love you Buck, trust me. I always get questions about their daddy. They want to be around you, Pearl always ask's to have a teaparty with you and George wants you to play ball with him..."
Bucky lost it. No amount of consoling could stop these tears.
"I... I am... so sorry..." He gasped out as he covered his face, embarrassment flowing through his features. Sara frowned and stood infront of him, she moved his hands and forced him to look at her. He blinked away his tears, trying to focus on her. "Bucky... stop apologizing for what happened then." He didn't deserve her, in the slightest. But he was thanking God in that moment for having her in his life. Sara wrapped her arm around him, he engulfed her into the hug not wanting to ever let her go again.
"Mommy..." A small voice whispered from beside them causing them both to look over to see George standing by Buckys feet. Sara immediately knelt down to face him, she stared deep into his blue eyes. Like a true mother, she knew what he wanted...
He wanted Bucky.
She smiled and nodded at him watching as he timidly walked towards Bucky, taking his hand in his. She smiled as she watched Bucky quickly wipe his face free of any tears as he followed his son down the hallway. Sara felt her heart pound as she watched them together. Since she was pregnant she imagined this moment, and now that it's happening she can't find the words to describe the joy she feels in her chest.
