Beautiful Insanity

Chapter One

How can a name that sounds so scary and fearful belong to such a beautiful man? A man who was blamed for many things. A man that would give up his life to save the ones he loves Ina heartbeat. Kildare. Such a sickly sweet sounding name. Kildare. A name that makes people stiffen in place. A name everyone knows to well but, would never dare to say anything about him. No ones ever seen him before, they just know that he was a Siren. The Sirens were one of the strongest clans alive but, they were all mysteriously killed one night. It's rumored that Kildare is the one that wiped out his whole clan but, how could he? I know that he's innocent. After the death of the Sirens, the Ravons were instantly known to be the strongest. They really aren't the finest of specimens though. Lucinda, the leader of the Ravons, is one of the most scariest people ever. I've never seen her but, I've heard stories about how she will and has killed anyone that comes in her way. And lastly there's us, the Wraits. We mostly just consist of an average person. We go to school, do jobs, drugs, you name. It we do it. I guess the only person who can take down the Ravons is That one person everyone fears. Kildare. I closed my journal shut smiling softly to myself. Shoving it under my bed, I quickly yanked the blanket towards me and buried my face in my pillow. Kildare.

"Zero, Zero get up!" I felt someone shaking my leg which caused me to jolt out of my bed. Rubbing my eyes and mumbling something even I couldn't understand, I stared at the person shaking my legs and sighed. "Annel, what is it? I was sleeping." playing with her fingers, she stared at me a little hesitant, "Um, when I was walking down the hallway in school, I overheard a few of the girls talking about this new club that just opened up and, I was thinking that's maybe you and I should go...?"

I sighed, "Annel..."

"ZERO PLEASE!" She sighed in frustration.

"You know we can't go Annel. Well get in trouble for being out till curfew. Plus, you know we aren't allowed to leave the foster care. You go to school and then come back here right away." I pushed aside my blanket and got out of my bed. Grabbing my comb, I ran it through my chocolate colored hair. "I know Zero but, it'll be amazi-" Before she could finish her sentence, my caretaker Rin, walked in. To be quite frank, I was kind of happy that she came in but, I know that Annel won't let go of this topic. "Zero dear, dinners ready." I nodded my head and started making my way towards the door. "Oh, hello Annel, I didn't see you there, you come down for dinner as well." Rin left the room, followed by me and Annel.

As we were walking down the stairs Annel kept giving me looks and tried to get my attention but, I ignored her and stayed in tune with my own thoughts. Annel is my best-friend but, honestly she can get very annoying because every time she breaks the rules, I have to cover them up. Entering the dining hall I grabbed my plate which had some roasted ducks and raspberry glaze. I licked my lips starring hungrily at my plate and went to go sit next to Annel. Now it get it, I could have sat anywhere I wanted to because no ones here but, Annels my best-friend and even though she gets annoying I'm still going to be friends with her. It was 8:30 and most of the foster kids were fast alseep. As I was eating my food, I knew Annel was staring at me, "Zero..."

"Annel, I already gave you my answer."

"Zero please, don't you always talk about going on adventures? Aren't you the only one that talks about stories about the Land of Naneth? How you want to explore and see all the places you read about? Do you not want to see if Kildare exists? You were the one who told me about healers and faries?" With each sentence she kept getting louder and louder.

"Annel, I know but..."

"BUT WHAT!?" Annel was pissed and I could hear it in her breathing but before I got to say anything else, Rin walked into the dining hall and gave us both a confused look. "Annel, why are you yelling?" Annel stared at me, then at the ground. " Nothing. I just got a little mad at Zero because she wasn't giving me the answers to the take home test we received." Did I forget to mention that Annel was also a fantastic liar? "Now Annel dear, you know it's a test which means you have to figure out the answers by yourself."

"Yes Rin, that's exactly was Zero was telling me when I kind of yelled at her." She gave me an apologetic look. Rin laughed, "See you should be more like Zero. Now, hurry up and finish eating so you two can go to bed." Rin grabbed the last of the plates from the table and started walking towards the kitchen. I picked up my plate and started walking towards the kitchen. I can't believe I'm about to do this. Turning around, I sighed, "Alight....well go-" Before I could even finish what I had to say, Annel engulfed me in a hug. Her pink fluffy hair was all over my face and I thought I was about to go deaf by her squeals of joy. I gently tried to pry her off me, "BUT...if we get cause Annel, you're taking the blame for everything. And, I'm not going to make up any more excuses to save your sorry ass. Okay?" She squealed yet again. Yeah, I'm going to go deaf. "Deal! Oh my god Zero, I love you!" I'm going to regret this.
