I was in one of the rooms that were in the Princesses castle. I was freaking out. It was as if I was feeling very uneasy, as if something bad was about to happen. The princess walked in so that she could escort me to the ball, "Zero, you look beautiful!" I really did feel beautiful. I was wearing a white halter dress with a black shawl. The corset was covered in beautiful diamonds and the bottom of the dress had gorgeous off white floral designs. I smiled at her, "Thank you but, I'm really scared Princess."

"Oh dear." She walked up to me and held my hand, "Today is the day that we don't think about all this okay? Nothing will happen to you Zero. You're protected by many.

"I know, I'm not afraid of being hurt, I'm just afraid that something might happen to Kildare. I really don't want to lose him and I have no idea what's going to happen to us after the war."

"Don't worry Zero, he will be fine. For he knows that he has to come back for you." She smiled and that made me less nervous, "Now c'mon, he's waiting downstairs for you and trust me, this boy has no patience." We walked through one of the double doors that led to the ball. As I entered, everything seemed to stop. Just like the first time I met Kildare. Everyone seemed to be looking at me but my eyes were only on one person. Kildare. He looked beautiful in his black tux that seemed to fit him perfectly. He smiled at me and I thought I was going to fall down the stairs. As I reached him, he grabbed my arms and engulfed me in a hug, "I didn't think you could get any more beautiful." I smirked, "And I thought you couldn't get any more handsome, I guess we were both mistaken." He smirked at me, "Clearly." Someone tapped my shoulder. Turning around I saw who it was and smiled. Dringol smirked at Kildare, I didn't think you would actually grow a pair of balls and tell her how you feel about her but, I guess I was wrong. I'm proud of you dude but don't think that I won't stop flirting with her." Kildare smiled, "I hate you." Dringol turned to me, "You look very lovely might I say. Enjoy the ball, I'll see you both tomorrow." He winked at me and left. I turned to Kildare and laughed, "Hes honestly the craziest boy I have ever met, but I'm happy you two are friends." Kildare wrapped his arm around my waist, "Yeah yeah. I really don't want to talk about this guy. So would you care to have a dance with me?"

"Of course!" We walked up to the ballroom floor and started dancing. I guess Kildare knew something was bothering me, "Zero, are you okay? You seem off. Is something bothering you?" I sighed, "Kildare, I'm just really afraid. I don't want you, or anyone in this case, getting hurt because of me. Or worse." I became wide eyed just thinking about all the possibilities. He started laughing. Idiot, "Why are you worrying so much? Nothing's going to happen. We're prepared. I'm going to be okay. Okay? Don't stress. They obviously have this ball for a reason. Just enjoy yourself love. Life's too short to be worrying."

"I know but-"

"No buts, you'll be okay. I promise. I love-" A loud boom was heard and everyone's head snapped to the noise. Some people realized what was happening and they ran. It can't be! I thought everything was going to happen tomorrow! Lucinda walked in and smiled. She looked horrid. Like a witch. Tall and powerful, with the darkest hair I've ever seen. Silence was heard all around us as she walked, "Well well well, what do we have here? A party!? That I wasn't invited to? Well this is awkward. Sorry for not dressing up for the occasion." She sighed and Kildare pushed me behind him, "Sadly, as much as I don't want to, I'm afraid that I might have to ruin the fun. It was nice knowing you Kildare but, I think it's time for me to end this silly little party, don't you think?" She pulled out a long black sword, "I really is sad to know that we could have been great friends Zero, you seemed like a wonderful girl." Kildare yanked out his sword and sneered at Lucinda, "Hit me with your best shot." And that was it, everything seemed to happen so quick. One second everyone's up in a fighting position and the next thing I know, there all dying. Dringol, Gruth, Princess Orel. They were all falling to the ground dying one by one. I turned to look for Kildare and saw that he was having a heated battle with Cameron. One by one the Nanethians were dying but, they were fighting back hard. Blood. Blood was everywhere. I was running but there was no way to escape any of this. I saw Kildare stab Cameron and he turned to face me. He was mouthing something along the lines of fight as he threw a sword at me. Lucinda ran up to Cameron and kneeled in front of him, "Cameron!" She grabbed his face, "Cameron don't die on me!"

"It's over sister, I'm dying." Lucinda was tearing up, "No no no no no no no no, don't think like that Cameron, and you're going to make it!" Cameron laughed and started to cough up blood, "Lucinda, I want you to kill the one thing Kildare can't live without. Show him what it feels like to lose someone you love."

"As you wish brother." Lucinda wiped her tears and stood up grabbing Cameron's sword. Zero was fighting one of the Ravons and Lucinda knew that this was the perfect time to strike her. She started walking towards Zero and Kildare noticed what was happening. Standing behind her, everything happened in an instant. The noise of metal entering flesh silenced everyone. Confused, Zero turned around only to come eye to eye with Kildare. She smiled at him but it quickly disappeared as she looked down and saw that Kildare had been stabbed. Lucinda stabbed Kildare. Kildare saved me. The sword was removed from Kildare and he seemed to jolt as he fell to the ground. All the color was lost from Kildares eyes and I fell with him holding his face, "No Kildare please no. This can't be happening Kildare please don't leave me. We were supposed to travel together! Why are you leaving me!? I thought you were always going to be there for me!?" Kildare was coughing and breathing heavily, "Zero....Zero please don't cry. I don't want my last few seconds to be memories of you crying." I wiped my tears but they just kept falling out of my eyes, "I'm not crying. I'm fine." My voice cracked and he reached up to wipe my tears. His hands were so cold, "My time has come zero, I need to go. Just remember it was your world baby, I was just living in it." Kildare become limp in my arms and my heart broke. I started beating his chest, "NO! WHY ARE YOU LEAVING ME? COME BACK! YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME YOU LOVED ME! WHY ARE YOU LEAVING? Please don't leave. Please."

"Rin! I found her!" I looked up. Who was that? Rin? I got up and saw Rin running towards me, "Rin!? Rin oh my god Rin! You need to help me he needs a doctor or he's going to die! Rin please!" She was stroking my hair, trying to calm me down, "Zero. Zero who are you talking about? You're here all alone. No one's here." I started looking around and Kildare was right there on the ground. I gave Rin a confused look, "Is this some kind of joke? He's right there on the ground Rin!" She looked at where I was pointed and started tearing up, "Oh dear god." She she's him, "I didn't think her schizophrenia would get worse." What?

"Schizophrenia?" That's impossible!

"Nurse, please bring the shot."

"Shot? Rin what shot? What are you talking about?"Rin grabbed the shot and stuck it in my arm. Everything was slowly turning black and I was feeling really dizzy, "Asylum? Schizophrenia? What's happening? Where's Kildaer?" Rin tried to soothe me, "Zero please, you need to calm down. Everything is fine." She turned to a nurse who seemed to be holding up a strait jacket with the number zero on it. Zero. Zero, "Bring her away and please switch her asylum room. She's going to be devastated when she finds out that Annel is missing." Where is Annel? She was at the party with me. I turned to look for Kildare but he was gone. What? Had they taken his body? I tried to pry myself out of Rins grip but things just seemed to be getting darker, "Wait stop, I need to see if Kildares okay." I need to heal him. Rin wasn't letting going of me and by now I started seeing spots, "Zero, please stop. I don't know who this Kildare is! Get in the ambulance please"

"No wait. Kildare." I blacked out. Rin was crying, "Poor her. This is the hundredth time she tried to escape and this is the farthest she's ever gone. Her schizophrenia keeps getting worse and I don't think she can take it any longer."

"Oh Rin, don't think like that. Let's just get her back in the asylum. We can deal with this later." And that was it. Everything was gone.
