Twelve

Two months passed as Eloise walked through a hall where the election was being held.
She looked around and smiled as she saw how many people giving a vote to her mom.
After everything, it was euphoric to see such a thing.
She looked around again before seeing Leo.
She walked to him and kissed him.
He then looked at her "You look beautiful" he said as he smiled.
"Thank you.
It's strange being here after everything.
It's like nothing happened yet we know something did happen" Eloise said as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"To them you look like you stayed inside.
Only the people that really pay attention see the bullet scar" he said.
She looked into his eyes "I don't want them to notice me.
This day isn't for me it's for my mom.
I would rather be reading right now but c'est la vie" she said.
Suddenly her mom walked to them.
She whispered something into Leo's ear before looking at Eloise.
"I'm happy you came.
I expected you to be on a plane right now" Charlie said.
"After everything we went through two months ago I would enjoy nothing more than watching you best Owen," said Eloise softly.
"You and everyone here," said Charlie.
"After this let's talk.
I did say we could" Eloise said.
"Ok, I'll see you in the office I was given after the election and Leo I expect you to stay a gentlemen.
I may have okayed this but I swear if I see you getting too close to Eloise i'll take your job" said Charlie.
Leo looked down and smiled "Yes Senator," said Leo.
"I'll see you two later," said Charlie before walking away.

Time passed as Eloise stood in the office Charlie told her to go to.
She won by a landslide and Eloise was truly so happy but knew after the NFFA lost their supporters would go rabid and will most likely start using violence to send a message.
Suddenly her mom walked into the room.
"Congratulations," said Eloise before smiling.
"Thank you.
If I may can I ask when you're leaving?" Charlie said.
"Thays what I wanted to talk about.
I'm not leaving" said Eloise.
Charlie froze as she looked at Eloise "Wait what?" said Charlie.
"I thought about it and I think im ready to stay in DC.
I have too many reasons to stay so from this day im staying in DC" Eloise said.
"Is this because of Leo?" Charlie asked.
"Yes.
I want to be with him for the rest of my life mom" she said.
Suddenly Charlie was out of the room.
Eloise walked out to see Charlie hugging Leo.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," said Charlie.
"What's this about?" Leo asked.
"I'm staying in DC," said Eloise.
"And without you she would be leaving so thank you.
I'm going to give you a raise" said Charlie before smiling.
"I'm flattered but that won't be necessary," said Leo before looking at Eloise.
She walked to him and kissed him before resting her head on his shoulder.
It was finally all falling into place and it all was perfect but will it stay that way?
