Nathaniel's pov.
____________________Waking up every day and hearing the same thing from the same people does get annoying at some point but when you're like me, speaking up isn't something you feel like you can do. Having my parents, siblings and neighbors telling me what to do, how to live and how I can never be loved since a young age eally does do something to a kid's brain. I believed everything they said when I was younger but stopped when I met the woman I thought would love me unconditionally and possibly forever.
"Uh, Damien, we are running out of flour faster than we usually do" Sofia, one of my employee's, said
Would it kill you to call me boss or Mr Knight?"I'll go out and buy some after I visit my sister Miss Swan" I replied
"You don't have to be so formal with me Damien, after everything we've be..."
"If that is all, Miss Swan" I said making her sigh and leave. Miss Swan is my ex-girlfriend and now she works for me, that's all I'm gonna say about that.
It was around 12:30 when I walked out of the bakery and of course, I used the back door because the last time I used the front door I scared most of the women there. I didn't stick around for their comments though, I left immediately after I heard them gasp. I have, however, been told by the employees that do respect me, that some customers wanted to see me, but I'm too scared to face any of them.
My sister is a cop and the only family member I like or tolerate at most. She is exactly how any older brother would describe his younger sister, annoying and a pain in the ass, but I love her more than anything in this world. I bought her thai food since one, I woke up late and couldn't make her lunch, and two, she loves anything with an unnecessary about of spiciness in it.
Not that I'm any better"Well, hello there" some woman greeted me as I walked into the police station
"Hello" I said back and walked into the building not bothering to look at her
"Hey, I wanted to talk to you!" she said making me stop in my tracks then turn to look at her
"Then talk" I said with my normal monotone voice
"Oh wow, I was wondering if you wanted to g..."
"Dammy!" the annoying fart that knows I hate being called that says
"Nevada" I respond making her snort and stand next to me
"Whose this?" she asked
"I don't know" I said looking at the woman expecting her to tell me her name
"It doesn't matter. I'm sorry, I didn't know he has a girlfriend" the woman said then ran out of the building
"Aww, she wanted to be your boo" my sister said making me roll my eye's but she saw me
"Not all women are gonna be like that bitch Damien""Right" I said then walked to her office
"What? You bought me food instead of cooking?" she said while dramatically gasping
"I had no time for that and I have to leave early to buy flour"
"Why not just order more from your monthly supplier?" she asked a reasonable question for once
"Firstly, don't ever say that in a police station cause it sounds like I'm a drug dealer/addict, secondly, I don't wanna go back too quickly to avoid someone, and thirdly, I don't wanna disturb their routine"
